: With so many social media networks in the world, how do you pick the best ones for sharing your creative work?
The time + energy you have to dedicate to your business isn't unlimited, so it's best to narrow your choices down to no more than 3 channels.
To pick the ones you should focus on, think about your present-day goals. What are you currently selling?
▪️ COMMISSIONS? Tumblr + Instagram have a huge artist community, full of art lovers ready to hire you for your style.
▪️ SMALL BUSINESSES? Facebook has groups filled with thousands of business owners; go there to network and find your next client.
▪️ GRAPHIC NOVELS OR RPG MODULES? Head over to Twitter, where you can connect with other self-publishing artists. This is also a great place to discover anthology opportunities and launch a Kickstarter.
▪️ CORPORATE ART + DESIGN? Build up your LinkedIn profile, showcase your portfolio and get in touch with marketing directors all over the world.
▪️ ANIMATION? TikTok + Byte art the places for fun, quirky bites of art — take your talents there and embrace the creativity within the limitations.
ACTION: Identify both your short-term (immediate) + long-term business goals. Pick 1-2 social media channels that best fit your objectives and really commit to remaining visible on them.
