Well-being is not just the absence of disease or illness. It's a complex combination of a person's physical, mental, emotional, and social health factors. Well-being is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. In short, well-being could be described as how you feel about yourself and your life. In the light of all these, the University of South Florida offers you the sessions of more than 50 experts from all over the world in 8 different sessions.

This is a self-paced, free course in which the participants can start any time and finish by December 31, 2023. The sessions are:

1 Wellness Basics
2 Lifestyle Medicine for the Brain
3 Focus on sleep
4 Fitness/Physical Activity
5 Wellness in Education
6 State of Mind
7 Stress Management
8 Nutrition

To finish this course, participants must view lectures in eight sections of the course. For each section, there will be a quiz in which the participants must achieve 70% or more to get a passing grade in each lecture. The participants can retake the quizzes if needed. The contents of this course are free of charge. However, if the participants would like to get a certificate from the University of South Florida with a Credly badge, they need to pay a $109 certification fee.

Grants for small businesses 💕

We have compiled a list of those accepting applications now. They include:
• The Small Business Readiness for Resiliency Program: The grant program, a partnership between the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and FedEx, intends to make more than 100 grants of $5,000 each to small businesses between June 2022 to May 2023 to help small businesses recover from a natural disaster. Businesses can apply here.

• The Fearless Strivers Grant Contest, in partnership with Mastercard Inc., will be awarding 11 Black women-owned small business with grants of $10,000 as well as one-on-one mentorship. The program will also be rolling out city-specific grant programs across the country. Click here to apply.

• The WellnessLiving Grant Program which will provide up to $150,000 in grants, marketing support and software to boutique wellness and fitness studios. The grants will be between $2,500 to $5,000 in funding per studio, and will include a photo shoot and feature article in Fitness Business insider Magazine. Click here to apply.

• The Entrepreneurial Spirit Fund by SIA Scotch, in partnership with business platform Hello Alice, which will give out 11 grants of $10,000 to small businesses in the food and beverage industry (that are not alcoholic beverage retail license holders) that are majority owned by a person of color. • The Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund, sponsored by food delivery service DoorDash, in partnership with business platform Hello Alice, will be providing $10,000 grants to restaurants with a physical location that are experiencing hardships due to a state or federally-declared natural disaster. • America's Seed Fund is a decades-long grant program powered by the National Science Foundation. The National Science Foundation grant program, open to early-stage companies that need to prove their technology and find their market potential, has made about 3,400 awards to startups and small businesses since 2012, with 153 exits by those companies and $9.1 billion in private investment. The grant program gives out roughly $200 million per year to eligible businesses. Click here to learn more.
