100 years old today. 🌍

Happy birthday, Sir David Attenborough — a man who has spent a century making the world pay attention to itself.

The BBC is hosting a live event at the Royal Albert Hall tonight, Sigur Rós will perform, and butterflies are apparently involved. It's the kind of celebration that only happens when someone has genuinely changed how we see the planet.

What strikes us most isn't just the legacy. It's the longevity. A career spanning more than seven decades, over 50 titles, and still releasing documentaries at 99. There's something quietly radical about doing work that matters, for a very long time, without stopping.

At Juizi, we like to think we're building for the long haul too: websites and digital homes that last, for organisations doing work worth preserving. Different scale, same spirit.

Here's to 100 years of David Attenborough, and to all the creatures, ecosystems, and ocean floors he introduced us to along the way. 🐢

Johan Beyers will be breaking down how he built the scoring system for Red Bull King of the Air. When athletes are 25 meters in the air and a global broadcast is live, "system failure" isn't an option. Johan will share how he used a lean PostgreSQL, Django, and Vue.js stack to handle things when your software simply cannot fail.

PRICELESS SA - SAMRC/Wits Centre for Health Economics and Decision Science is a research-to-policy unit at the University of Witwatersrand. Their work sits at the intersection of evidence and health policy, which means their publications aren’t just content. They’re the product.

Happy International World Happiness Day 2026!

It feels jarring, even a bit tone-deaf, to talk about "happiness" at the moment. But psychologists and sociologists have found that observing a day like the International Day of Happiness isn't about ignoring reality - it’s about preserving the very thing that conflict tries to destroy.

"The General Assembly of the United Nations in its resolution 66/281 of 12 July 2012 proclaimed 20 March the International Day of Happiness, recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world and the importance of their recognition in public policy objectives. "

Which countries have the most official languages?

1. Bolivia (37 languages)
2. Zimbabwe (16 languages)
3. India (22 languages)
4. South Africa (12 languages)

This week, in discussion with a prospective client for a South African multilingual education project, the question came up: the content management system that we use Plone CMS - how many languages can it accommodate?

We've done many multilingual implementations for other clients and know Plone does it well.

But even we were blown away again when reminded that once the plone.app.multilingual add-on is enabled in the Control Panel, more than 60 languages can be supported on the interface. A great Translation Map highlights any issues for the web editors and shows missing translations. Side-by-side translations, language independent fields and more.

So SA's languages? Bring it on 💪
