Over the last year(ish) it has felt SO good to meet people who have only ever known me as someone who is an artist. It is incredibly affirming to my identity and I'm so proud that I'm finally really stepping into myself as an artist (even though it's still just baby steps). I'm VERY much a novice and I'm excited to have sooooo much room to grow. ✨️

So many people in business live with the dollar in mind so they shy away from discussing politics and anything that is deemed political even when it isn't... like science being real, and racism existing as examples.

As a consumer my top priorities are:
Support businesses that support my values
Ecological responsibility
Support minority and woman owned business
Support small business
Best value per dollar
(not specifically in that order)

I believe in voting with your dollar.
I believe in standing up for what matters to you even if it means some may choose to not work with you.

I believe that Black Lives Matter.
I believe that Trans lives matter.
I believe that science is real.
I believe that LGBTQ rights are human rights.
I believe that women's bodies and women's choices are not to be governed by men.
I believe that people living in poverty deserve to be protected and fought for.
I believe that the current system of capitalism is broken and needs regulation no single human being should have trillion dollar "earning" potential.

And oh yeah, I believe that voting makes a difference.

I love knowing when my values are matched and love giving my money to companies that aren't afraid to let me know. I'll literally look companies up before buying from them and find one that aligns. Anybody else do this?

When I was a kid I thought I'd grow up to be a designer*. Turns out, I was right, just a different kind. I'm booked till January on major projects which is amazing and I am LOVING turning ideas and existing brands into stand-out brands with impact!

* I was addicted to E! Fashion TV I used to make my sisters be my models and is use anything I could find to style their outfits. I LOVE those memories.

Today is and yesterday was and I love that this image really speaks to both of these things that matter so very much to me.

Visibility in both regards matter SO much.
Not everyone needs to be out and proud to change public opinion but the more of us the world sees the more we WILL find acceptance.
Not everyone needs to be having the conversations about their mental health to turn the tides but we do need to hear from others so that we know we're not alone.

I am here it all!

Voting with your dollar can make just as much of an impact as voting at the polls which is why I research the companies I buy from and whose services I utilize. It matters to me to support those that support the things I care about.

This is why part of my brand is talking about social justice issues. It is OKAY to say out loud what you stand for. It is okay if that means you're not for everyone. You can't be anyway. For those who vibe with you to find you you have to BE YOU.

It's OKAY to stand out. It's okay to be too much. It's okay to be extra. It's okay to be... whatever you are as a human and as a service provider of any kind.

This is 2020. You can be 100% you and be taken seriously. If you're not offered a seat at the table, don't just bring a chair, get your own damn table!
