My Story of How Some Authors Are Selling More Books
I’m the publisher of http://XicasBlog.com with over 2200 pages of blog post on books, I’m going to explain how some authors are selling more books.
First of all, best selling authors aren't the only ones making big bucks on Amazon each day. Authors who optimize their books for both Amazon and Google do very well, even without the best seller status. These authors play Google's keyword and back links game for consistent book sales. Example: The Xica's Blog book aggregator updates based on quality book news from other sites. A good many of the book announcements come from the author's home town online newspaper. Other book news come from medium priced to high priced book marketing sites, but not always. Each day our blog gets an RSS Feed from a major site that you can only purchase using Fiverr.com.
When an author combines a popular niche with 10K to 100K keyword searches per month, and a professional book cover, book sales increase, not only from the Amazon search but from Google's search engine as well. This means successful authors are doing keyword research BEFORE they come up with a title for their book, unless they already have a large following.
Google has over 200 ranking factors, but for authors, keywords and do-follow back links are most important.
