You know what they are when you see them.
---
The auto-follows and unfollows, the auto-comments, the auto-replies on Messenger….
---
Bots are everywhere on social media.
---
They are spammy, annoying but unavoidable.
---
So how do you beat them?
---
The truth is, you can’t.
---
We humans, simply can’t outdo and outsmart robots.
---
The most important thing is to stay true to being human and don’t join the millions of other bots and make the social media world even more bot-like.
---
There are 2 things you can do:
---
1. Ignore or play along
---
It’s your choice. If you can’t tell whether someone is a genuine follower, you can choose not to follow anyone back, until they have done something that proves that they are not a bot. If they follow you and unfollow you because you don’t follow back, they are not the sort of followers you want anyway.
---
If you have the time, reply to their bot comment and say something human like “Thanks for your support on ###. All the best with ###!”, or “Glad you love my post on ###. Hope it helps you with ###!”. If there is a human reading the replies, hopefully they will get the message and stop the bot-like auto-comment.
---
2. Engage like a human
---
When you follow people, if you want them to notice you and engage with you, and potentially follow you back, send them something of value via a DM or comment.
---
When you comment, be a human and make it relevant. Don’t give generic comments like “Cool!”, “Nice!”, “Love it!”, that are likely to be lost among the seas of bot like comments (and make you look like a bot). If you love their work, elaborate on exactly what you love about it.
---
Make the social media world a better place.
---
Don’t be a bot!

If you are a "New Year Resolutions" kind of person....keep your resolutions simple.

Focus clearly on one or two goals that will give you the most happiness and fulfilment in life.

Make sure you know the WHY, WHEN and HOW to achieve them.

Keep your social media posts simple.
***
I always do a simplicity check before I post my content.
***
Is my core message clear? Do I have more than one call to action? Are there any words that could confuse people?
***
Remember your post already has to compete with a whole heap of quality contents - funny cat videos, trending news, friend’s travel photos, celebrity stories… The last thing you want to do is to confuse your audience.
***
If in doubt, show the post to someone you know and get their feedback. If they can’t tell you the message you were trying to say, that means you need to rewrite it.
***
One core message.
***
One call to action per post.
***
Make every post count.

To be in the position to give, is a blessing.

Every day I am reminded of how fortunate I am to be able to do what I do. I feel it's only right if I give something back to the universe.

Whether it's supporting and donating to a charity, or promoting a local business without expecting anything in return, I give, because I can.

I don't need Christmas to remind me 'Tis the season for giving.

I don't need a reason to give.

I give, because I can.

So here I am.

Doing what I love - writing.

Growing up as an introvert, writing diaries, letters and poems was my way of expressing myself. Although I never liked my handwriting, writing helped me get through all the hard times.

When computer and internet came along...I got into blogging. I enjoyed helping and inspiring my readers through my blogs. Writing gave me a sense of purpose.

Fast forward to the smart phones and social media era...I’m grateful to have business owners believing in me to look after their social media contents. Through my words, I help businesses tell their stories. I help them find and establish their “voice” online. I help them grow. Writing has allowed me to fulfill my passion for making a difference in the world.

I love writing, and this is my story so far....
