Modern buyers are savvy. They’re checking multiple pieces of content across several sites before moving on from one stage of the purchase journey to the next.

Finding the right content to answer the prospect’s questions, nurture their opinion of and relationship with you, and ultimately convert them into paying customers is hard. So hard that most brands and marketers are lost when it comes to choosing the right kind of content to send their prospects at different points in the sales process.

"Management is changing the territories again. How do they expect us to make quota?"

"I don't know why they are hiring more sales reps, it's just adding competition for us."

"I can't make any money off the new comp plan. The company is always trying to screw us over."

But when you dig a little deeper, the people saying that are ALWAYS the reps that barely make quota the few times a year they actually do.

The most successful reps know what they can and can't control and don't use things they can't control as excuses for their performance.

I get it.

Running a business is tough. You have to wear multiple hats and be able to swap between them at a moment's notice. It's easy to let things slip between the cracks and not get you sales activities done. It happens to me all the time.

Over the years, I have debated which is a more complex sale, service or product. For me, selling a service is a more remarkable feat for the simple fact that with a product, people know what they are looking for, but with a service, they don’t always know they need that service.

When selling a service, you have to find ways to differentiate yourself more than when selling a product. With a product, you can touch it, feel it, and hold it. But when it comes to a service, it’s like selling air, so you need to show visuals of what you offer.
