Hashtags...love 'em or hate 'em, they're likely here to stay. We'll briefly cover a few Do's and Don'ts below.

✅ DO: Keep it relevant and specific to your content. Finding your niche (real estate, business, health & wellness, construction, etc.) hashtag(s) can increase your post's visibility to the right audience.

✅ DO: Mix popular (as long as it's relevant) and niche-specific hashtags to broaden your reach without getting lost in the crowd.

❌ DON'T: Overload your posts with too many hashtags. Keep it under 10 for a clean and user-friendly experience.

❌ DON'T: Use banned or irrelevant hashtags. It can hurt your account's visibility.

Hey fellow VSL'ers (how original, right? We know...sorry, we're working on it)!

We know that being a business owner feels like being that Swiss Army knife with wayyy too many implements (you know the one we mean). There's just way too much going on...

These essential tools will no doubt save you time...and your sanity when marketing your business on social media:

1. **ANALYTICS TOOLS**: Numbers don't lie right? Knowing your audience’s behavior and what content they engage with most helps you craft more relevant content.
- Meta has tools for tracking this within their Business Suite for FREE
- Investing in PAID software may save you some hassle when managing multiple social media platforms by having one central platform to manage all of them.

2. **CONTENT CALENDAR**: Stay organized and plan ahead. Trust us, your future self will thank you!
- Fun fact: There's a FREE calendar right within the Meta Business Suite that allows you to draft & schedule posts in advance across Facebook and Instagram, and see WHEN your followers are the most active on the platform
- You could even use a Google calendar if you wanted to as well!
- PAID options include Hootsuite, HubSpot, Sprout Social, or similar tools for managing social media.

3. **MEDIA/DESIGN SOFTWARE**: You've got to have a way of bringing your vision to life!
- FREE/LOW-COST options include: Canva (images of all sizes, AI image creation, some video editing), Invideo (AI video generation platform), and CapCut (video editing with a TikTok bias).

We're a small agency making a big impact!

Charity: Water - It is truly mind-blowing that in the age of AI, areas of the globe do not even have access to clean drinking water...thankfully this nonprofit agrees.

St. Jude Children's Hospital: I have a young family member who is battling cancer right now. A couple family members have won and some have been lost. I don't need to go into depth about how crippling this news is, especially to a child. Parents never have to pay a penny for medical costs at St. Jude.

Mike Rowe Works - Working hard to close the skilled trades gap. They provide resources, training, and scholarships to high school students looking to join the trades.

Our son is on the spectrum. He has needed Early Intervention services since ~18mos old. He has much better language and has become increasingly social through his Pre-K program. For many parents this is not the case. There can be behavioural and developmental struggles to navigate. We love our son so much, and try to bring awareness to ASD. Glad to share this, Next Generation Roofing.
