Why Dogs? Because dogs are the best. They are slobbery and kooky and soulful and precious.

Next to Steve Martin and Jennifer Coolidge, they are the funniest creatures in the world. THE FUNNIEST CREATURES IN THE WORLD. People have been creating images of their pets nearly as long as people have been creating images of people. As far back as 900 B.C., ancient Egyptians paid tribute to their pets by mummifying and painting them along with their human owners. In the 1600’s, artists such as Diego Velazquez and Anthony Van Dyck often painted pastoral scenes showcasing regal hunting dogs alongside their owners. And now I get to photograph them. I have the best job ever. There are dog photographers creating images of dogs at the park or the beach, but I draw my inspiration by looking back on this rich tradition of formal dog portraiture, to put it simply, my images are about dog as fashion icon.

LINK IN BIO. A few months ago, I traveled to the Galápagos Islands with Animal Balance, documenting communities working to protect
both animals and one of the most fragile ecosystems on earth. Every morning, families arrived carrying dogs and cats in backpacks, laundry baskets, and their arms, waiting hours for access to veterinary care. What I witnessed was not just
haraship, but extraordinary tenderness, resilience, and love. I came home with some of the most meaningful photographs I
have ever made. Today, I’m releasing a small collection of Galápagos prints
through my website. These images are part fine art, part documentary record -
moments of connection between people, animals, and place. Some are quiet. Some are strange. Some made me cry while
editing them. 100% of proceeds from these prints will fund future documentary travel with Animal Balance as I continue photographing their work in vulnerable communities around
the world. I hope these images bring a little of the Galápagos into your
home.
