Are hashtags still relevant? The quick answer is "yes", however...SEO is straight-up dominating on social media channels. Why is that?

Think about the way you search when you're scrolling on social media. Maybe you're hunting for a makeup tutorial. If you go to TikTok for example, you might search the product name. Ex: "Laura Mercier Real Flawless Foundation" because you want to see reviews or tutorials of that product. You are more likely to search it the way you would through Google instead of a hashtag.

What does this mean if you're a brand making videos and selling products? It means you have to be on your caption game. By this, I mean you need to include long captions filled with relevant keywords to your product or service so that social media algorithms know exactly what you're talking about, and will get you found easier.
