Do you remember where you were when you first learned of the attacks on September 11, 2001?
I believe anyone who was alive that day remembers. We remember where we were, what we were doing, how we first heard the news—and the overwhelming sense of disbelief and heartbreak as it sank in that nearly 3,000 Americans had been taken from us by terrorists.
Today, I went to the Healing Field in Prescott Valley to stand alongside fellow Americans and patriots as we remembered those who were lost. Walking among the thousands of American flags was an incredibly humbling and emotional experience.
These are just a few of the images I captured today in honor of the 2,977 men, women, and children whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001—and in remembrance of the families, friends, first responders, and countless others whose lives were forever changed that day.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
