Our story begins in 1985 when our founder, Bob Hakman, decided to start a company focused on providing high quality, custom printed tape to the distributor market. Not long after the company was founded, Bob identified a growing demand for barcode pressure sensitive products. What he didn’t realize was that what he was starting in a 1,550 square foot facility would become one of the largest indepe

ndently owned label companies in the country. Today, DLS is a leading labeling solutions provider with over 160 team members; four locations: Illinois, Georgia, Texas and Nevada; and over 240,000 square feet of production space. Inspired by his father—a hands-on inventor who once built a camera from bicycle parts—Landa’s passion for imaging started early and never let up. When HP acquired Indigo in 2002, it accelerated even further—setting a new global standard for digital print quality and earning Landa the title “father of commercial digital printing.”

And some legacies are so impactful, they’re literally stamped into history. In 2016, HP Indigo was honored as one of Israel’s most influential inventions—with its press featured on a commemorative postage stamp celebrating innovation on a global scale.
