Bad design is dangerous, especially if you have imperfect vision, are using a mobile device, don't like to zoom in, or don't have a lot of patience... and who's left, really?

Just as people deserve unfettered access to information, messaging of ALL kinds is thwarted by bad design that inadvertently undermines the needs of everyone involved.

Drop me a line; let's talk.

I see SO many content creators putting immense effort into doing graphics that are OK - mostly - but miss the mark in terms of real effectiveness. It’s sort of heartbreaking to see great info that won’t be seen and shared to the extent possible if it looked more polished and professional.

For me, professionalism within any industry involves acknowledging our strengths and weaknesses. It can be a hard pill to swallow, especially if you like doing design but your primary expertise is elsewhere.

If you’d like to put your intended audience’s needs over creative expression, I’m here to help, even if it’s for a consultation on your existing content.

Folks are out here, telling on themselves on the daily.

Difficult truth: Use of low-contrast text is discriminatory, and often comes from accounts trying DIY design… because naturally, you don’t know what you don’t know.

Studies have shown for decades that high-contrast content is easier and faster to read and therefore more engaging - and not just for neurodivergent folks!

I mean, who LIKES to squint? 😵‍💫

Sure, it's easy to get excited about the people who DO engage with content, forgetting about countless people with VERY common visual or cognitive challenges that just keep scrolling, feeling ignored… as usual. 😥

NOT a good look. 👎

Recommendation: hire a pro like you do for other skilled services, or rethink your layouts.

[Side note, any other fans?] 🥗 🍳

I had a hunch that a modified Venn diagram could add order to this infographic, in addition to my usual color/contrast legibility upgrade, so it’s easy to read and prints well. What do you think?

This is why I request that clients ask very few people (if any) for feedback on a concept. Even the best of intentions still lead to ….unfortunate results.
