Calcie DeZort Photography and Design I am in my spring semester of my senior year at the photography program at Montana State University Bozeman!

Photography is my major and I am minoring in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. Once graduated from the program I would love to own my own studio specializing in portraiture.

I am starting to get very excited about my thesis project for my final semester of college! This project has been photographed with a Rolliecord Twin Reflex Camera from the Czech Republic, which dates back to pre-World War II! Crazy, I know and it still works like a charm! Oh if only cameras could talk I can't image all of the things it has seen! I can't exactly figure out why I am having so much excitement over this project, maybe it is because I am back in the darkroom developing my own film and being hands on which is quite refreshing since I have been so focused on the digital side of things for the last year. There is definitely something magical about losing control of your work as an artist and seeing the magic of a picture appear on film. The feeling of creating something so purely on you own is quite an amazing feeling I can't believe I forgot how much I loved this hands on process!

The basis for my thesis this spring is remembering my Grandmother who passed away in February of 2012. Through this series I will be exploring the life my Grandmother has left behind and the comfort that her belongings bring to my family as we continue on without her.
