My three-year-old started preschool this week. In my reflection on our life together so far, I’ve realized that she’s taught me what creativity really means.
Creativity in practice.
Creativity every day.
Creativity as an action word.
Creativity as a lens through which to see life.
My daughter made me a better artist. Not because I made her–and she’s perfect, if I do say so myself–but because her way of seeing the world is endlessly inspiring.
She reminds me of the artist I want to be: Forever open to new experiences, seeing the beauty in everything, and knowing with certainty that the goodness she shares with the world will come back to her. As a creative, a designer, and a leader, that’s a powerful thing. With such a perspective, you can understand where people are coming from and align with their vision–you can meet them where they’re at.
Here’s a few thoughts to bring childlike wonder (and the inherent wisdom of a three-year-old) to your business and your everyday: (continued in the comments)
