Hi everyone, unfortunately there is a very common scam going around where designers are being impersonated by people who are thieves. Many of us worked through 99Designs as a platform and these scammers are preying on the publicly available information such as business names in reviews and portfolios to find the companies and look up their websites. From there, these scammers find their email or submit contact forms impersonating designers to try to exploit our clients and steal from them. I have been dealing with this for months. So many of my amazing clients have emailed me, DMed me, texted me, etc to try to warn my about this but unfortunately there is nothing I can do. I can only tell you that my only email is [email protected], that you need to be so careful checking email addresses you're receiving these messages from, and to block and delete them. I can't stop them, I'm so upset about this. I woke up this morning to a 1 star Yelp review from a previous client saying I wouldn't stop harassing him and it isn't even me. A week ago a client sent me a very angry email about why I wouldn't stop emailing them and I tried to explain that it wasn't me. It is beyond frustrating when businesses are built on client relationships and these terrible people are ruining my name, scamming my clients, and threatening the reputation of my business and I'm powerless to stop it.
Please, if you receive any emails that you think are not from me - email me at [email protected] to confirm. Block or delete suspicious emails. Don't click on any links or pay for any compliance nonsense.
And also, if you've worked with me in the past please consider leaving me a Yelp review to counteract the negative review I received. I'm hoping to contact the gentleman to explain the situation and ask him to remove it but until then I would be very grateful for any help. Thank you and stay safe online!
