How does remembering who we are in Christ push back darkness?

In this episode, we explore Revelation 12:11 and the power of testimony and remembrance as God’s way of forming His people. From Israel’s stacked stones to the Lord’s Table, Scripture shows that God shapes identity by training our memory—not by constant reinvention.

We look at:
• Why memory leaks lead to identity drift
• How the false self hustles for worth
• How the true self rests in the Father’s naming
• Practical rhythms of remembrance—testimony, liturgy, and Communion

If you’re weary of reinventing yourself and hungry for rootedness, this teaching invites you to remember who you are and whose you are in Christ.

Where is God when you’re suffering?
When God feels silent, many Christians—especially leaders—assume Jesus is near our pain, but not in it.

In this teaching, we explore a deeper biblical truth: Jesus doesn’t merely observe suffering—He enters it. Drawing from the Gospels and the story of Gethsemane, this episode reframes how we understand pain, silence, and God’s presence in seasons of anguish.

For pastors, ministry leaders, and marketplace leaders carrying hidden weight, this conversation speaks directly to the question we rarely say out loud: Where is Jesus when obedience still hurts?

We’ll look at:
Why silence is not the absence of God
How Jesus’ suffering reshapes our theology of pain
What it means to lead faithfully when God feels distant
How the cross forms resilient, honest leaders

This isn’t abstract theology—it’s formation for real people in real pain.

We can’t make sense of God’s voice—or silence—if we’re not reading it through the lens of His larger story.

When we come to a difficult passage or try to make sense of a moment in our own lives, we have to remember:

God is on a mission to redeem humanity to Himself through Jesus.
That’s the through-line of all scripture: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Reconciliation.

If we miss that, we’ll misinterpret the moment.
We’ll read silence as abandonment, suffering as punishment, and hard texts as cruelty instead of context.

But if we hold onto the meta-narrative, we can start to see even silence as part of a redemptive arc.

As the Church embraces storytelling in the digital age, we must remember that marketing isn’t just about selling—it’s about creating a connection. We need to tell stories that reflect the emotional realities of the people we’re trying to reach. Only then will we be able to engage them in a way that is both meaningful and lasting.

Today, I want to talk about something that’s not easy but incredibly important—and that is suffering. In fact, I've had very little desire to explore this topic because frankly, I don't want what I'm about to explore and argue to be true. Specifically, how suffering isn't just a part of our Christian journey; it's a crucial element that deepens our relationship with Jesus.

Let's unpack this together.

Welcome to the Ministry Growth Show. If you've been in ministry for any length of time, you've probably felt this tension. You can build programs, you can grow the audience, you can even create real momentum, and still feel like something underneath all of it is missing. There's a quiet question many leaders carry. Are we actually making disciples, or are we just managing activity?
That's the conversation we're sitting in today.
I'm joined by Vic Green from Replicate Ministries. Their work has helped thousands of churches rethink how disciple making actually happens. Not in theory. In real, lived-out practice. And what I appreciate about this conversation is how honest it is.
We talk about why strategies alone don't work. Why culture matters more than we tend to admit. Why real disciple making movements don't start at a whiteboard, they start on our knees. Vic also names something I think a lot of pastors feel but don't always have language for. The gap between what we say discipleship is and what our churches actually produce.

The Kingdom of God does not primarily confront us with new explanations about reality. Jesus does not argue people into the Kingdom. He reveals it. He invites people to notice what has been present all along.
