There’s been much discussion about the changes to Facebook’s News Feed algorithm after the announcement that it would prioritise ‘meaningful social interactions’ over posts from businesses, brands and media.
Our Account Manager ‘Magic’ Mark attended a panel discussion at We Are Social on the topic and these are his takeaways:
- Facebook has experienced a 4% drop in the stock market since they've announced the change
- A lot of brands are adopting paid-only strategies to combat the change (duh)
- Brands such as Audi are turning to influencers, proving that even Goliaths see influencer work as an effective brand awareness tool
- Less is more; Brands should be posting less content at a higher quality
- Brands should be reaching for more niche audiences to facilitate genuine conversations
