Well done and thank you to everyone who took part in the Active Fife May Walking Challenge – The Commonwealth Mile 🎉

Over 500 people got involved this year – including 205 individuals and 33 teams, that's around 300 people enjoying the challenge as part of a team.

Together, we walked and wheeled 49,059 miles, travelling virtually through 31 Commonwealth countries, across six continents, and all the way back home to Scotland.

That’s a huge achievement – powered by everyday movement across Fife 💪

Our May Walking Challenge starts today

It’s May, which means it’s National Walking Month — and Day One of the Active Fife May Walking Challenge: The Commonwealth Mile.

This year we’re All In for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, celebrating the return of the Commonwealth Mile. The goal is simple: encourage as many people in Fife as possible to walk, wheel or cycle at least 1 mile every day in May.

Over the month, everyone who signs up will help us virtually travel around 31 Commonwealth countries, covering six continents and around 49,000 miles.

It’s not too late to join! Register today, track your miles throughout May and let’s see how far Fifers can travel together. Find out more https://active.fife.scot/activities/activity-pages/fitness-and-wellbeing/walking/walking-challenge
