Happy verse Friday!

Today's verse reads: "Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you."

God is such a loving God. He is also a just God. Because a father loves his son, he disciplines him to guide him along the right path. A father would not let his son play in the street, and would discipline him for doing so in hopes he would not do it again. God's love for us is no different. We just play the role of the son. God knows what's best for us ALWAYS, and in times of trial, it's important to remember this.

Happy verse Friday!

Today's verse reads: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men."

It's very easy to get tired of your job, or even work to impress someone. I've been there myself. When you feel these things, it's important to take a step back and focus your heart up to God. Work in His name, and work to glorify Him.

Happy verse Friday!

Today's verse reads: "Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said 'it is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

In today's society, it has become more common to love receiving than to love giving. Here's a challenge for you. How many moments can you find in your day-to-day life can you find to give to someone? Can you find one person a day to give to? That can look like giving a helping hand, buying friend a meal, or even just giving a bottle of water to someone you see at the gas station.

Type 'AMEN' if you accept the challenge!

Happy verse Friday!

Today's verse reads: "A friend loves at all times."

Many times through scripture, whether it is said directly or not, God calls us to love. This is one of the many examples. We must love each other as God loves us. No matter how far from Him we stray, He still loves us unconditionally. Be the light for your friends, no matter what they may be going through, and love them unconditionally.

Having our newborn, my wife and I were unable to make it out to our usual vacation spot somewhere in the mountains. Definitely missing it, but wouldn't trade the new dad experience for the world!

Where are you traveling this summer??

Happy Verse Friday (but it's Saturday)!

Today's verse reads: "If we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."

Being a new dad to a 1-month old, let me tell you, patience is tested. I'm sure you too can think of other instances you have had lately that have put your patience to the test. It's important to point your heart and mind to God in prayer in times when you're being tested, as opposed to letting yourself wear down to anger. God calls you to be patient. Thank Him that He considers you worthy to put your faith and patience to the test.

Happy verse Friday!

Today's verse reads: "The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hands."

Short but sweet. As a new dad, a fatherly love comes naturally. I want nothing but the best for my son. But I must take my love to another level, through God. I pray every day that I would have the love of God come through me to love my son. To give him the same love that God loved His only son, Jesus, with.

Comment "FATHER" if you're going to be or currently are a new dad!

Today marks 2 years of marriage for my wife and I. In those 2 years, God has blessed us immensely and we couldn’t be more thankful. I only pray that He would continue to be at the center of our marriage. Here’s to many more years!
