Do you take time each day to appreciate what you have, exercise, learn, and reflect on your life? If not, you are really missing out. Practicing gratitude, exercise, learning something new, and reflecting on how you are living your life can provide amazing physical and mental benefits.
And these benefits are not just limited to our personal life. Taking time each day to improve our own mental and physical health has positive effects in the workplace.
What's one thing you can start doing this week?
Strength training! If you don't have weights, that's okay! Try doing push-ups (you can do them on your knees or do negative push-ups if you can't yet do them normally; don't get discouraged because you can't do a regular push-up. I couldn't the first time I tried), squats, and lunges are a good start. I would suggest watching a video on proper form if you haven't performed these exercises before.
Why strength train?
No matter how old or young you are, numerous studies show that strength training at least 20 minutes a day for at least 2 days a week greatly improves mental abilities, fights off mental diseases such as dementia, helps to prevent depression, and has many more benefits for people of all ages. Don't let age be an excuse, start strength training today!
