After years of using a Wacom tablet, I’ve recently upgraded to a Huion Kamvas Pro 19 display tablet, and I absolutely love it.

It means I can draw directly on the screen, which feels much more natural for sketching, illustration, retouching, concept work and detailed design tasks.

It’s an addition that will make a real difference day-to-day in the studio, making the creative process smoother, quicker and literally hands-on, and I’m looking forward to properly putting it through its paces.

The Wacom isn’t being retired completely though. It’ll still be coming with me when I’m working on the go, while the Huion becomes part of my main studio setup.

I really enjoyed working with Naz on this project for Reignite Development Ltd, after being introduced by Tony Bowler and Michelle Bowler from The Business Culture HEY.

Naz initially approached me to help reimagine the brand and create business cards and A5 leaflets, but the project soon grew into a wider rollout that included exhibition banners, a z-fold piece, a practical steps booklet, and PowerPoint templates.

It was great to work across the full set of materials and help bring everything together into a more joined-up, confident and consistent brand presence.

Projects like this are always especially satisfying, because it is not just about designing individual items. It is about making sure the whole brand feels like it belongs together.

If your own branding feels a little disconnected across print, presentation and promotional materials, this is exactly the kind of work I help with.

What a fantastic morning, yesterday, for “civilised” speed networking at the Mercure Hull Grange Park. Thanks to Tony Bowler and Michelle from The Business Culture HEY for organising.

60 businesses in one room, moving from table to table. One minute to pitch to the 9 other people around the table, then change. It was great to see and hear from some familiar and new faces, both members and guests.

Also, some good conversations before we started, and afterwards. Thanks also to Phil Ward for keeping track of time on my table.

Quiet on socials... Busy in the studio.

Over the past few months, I’ve been busy working on a wide range of projects, including logo design, brand refreshes, brochures, booklets, banners, business cards, interactive digital brochures, and, as odd as it sounds, themed adventure mini golf course design.

It’s been a real mix of print, digital and brand work across very different sectors, which is exactly the variety I love.

I’ll be sharing more of these projects over the coming weeks.

It's International Design Day today (27th April), and this year's theme is "The Spaces In Between".

From the London Tube map helping millions of people easily navigate the city of London, to websites and apps where thoughtful design makes things easier, faster and less frustrating.

Where does design quietly make the biggest difference in your world?

Merry Christmas to all of my connections. I hope 2026 will be a great year for each and every one of you.

I was recently asked to design a couple of banners and a trifold (6pp) leaflet for David Hickinson Architecture, a fellow member of The Business Culture HEY. The client and myself were really happy with the printed result.

Do you need something similar? Let's help amplify your brand!

Hiring managers, you can do better!

Why has it become the norm for hiring managers to treat candidates like dirt and unworthy?

If you ask us to do a “task”, which, on the whole, I’m against, as you can see my portfolio to see what I can do, then don’t just ghost us after we’ve spent our time doing it for you.

I don’t care how many candidates you had apply for the role; you’ll only have asked a handful to do the task for you.

Give us the decency of a response. It’s highly unprofessional! Rant for today over.

I found that cathartic for a Friday morning.
