Wondering what chef to call for your private party or special event? We are thrilled to announce the launch of Boss Hodge in Canton, along with bosshodge.com.

Founded by Executive Chef Bobby Hodge and his wife Kristen, Boss Hodge specializes in private chef services and custom catering for private parties and special events across Northeast Ohio.

Collaborating with Bobby and Kristen has been a true joy and a pleasure.

Bobby has a genuine passion for creating delicious, comforting dishes, authentic South Carolina barbecue, and great dining experiences.

Having worked as a chef across the southeast, including many years in Charleston, South Carolina, he and Kristen are bringing southern cuisine to Ohio in a unique way.

Bobby and Kristen established Boss Hodge last year and began by catering private parties and special events for friends and family.

And, they recently purchased a building in Canton where the food kitchen will be built from the ground up.

They are scheduling events beginning this fall, so visit their website at bosshodge.com and get on the hot list.

What makes Boss Hodge even more special is that they will be creating custom menus for each event.

Rather than giving you static menus, they will work with you to create a custom menu that’s built around your favorites. Every time.

If you've met them, you know that Bobby and Kristen are known for their warm and relatable style, personal attention, and collaborations with local farms and venues.

This creative couple blends the passion for creating unforgettable experiences with a variety of cuisines and Midwestern favorites to create unique menus and memorable events. Visit bosshodge.com to schedule an event beginning this fall.

One this beautiful Earth Day, something truly phenomenal is happening. Through the serendipity of a breakfast with an old friend, I have been given the generous opportunity to help people around the world develop nature-based practices to reduce anxiety, improve health, and reclaim resilience.

I believe that these practices are what we need right now as we continue to navigate change and challenge and reimagine exploitative and broken systems.

Though we can't share the details just yet, I wanted you to know that something's coming that will help you reclaim your health, hope, and happiness during these precarious times.

Until then, make time on this Earth Day to express gratitude to our Earth Mother for her gifts of life, enjoy a stillness practice outside that gives you peace, and remember that each of us carries some much needed medicine.

Today, I am feeling some big gratitude for being able to share some of mine with all of you.

We're still asked, "What's the difference between PR and marketing?" PR is relational and marketing is transactional. PR is about building relationships. Marketing is about fast conversions.

When you value building internal, B2B, or B2C relationships, public relations becomes an essential part of your media mix.

Relationships are built on honesty, reliability, and mutual respect. PR helps you do it authentically and strategically.

When your stakeholders trust you, you earn brand loyalty. That's the sweet spot.

When people, organizations, or governments intentionally issue false and misleading information, that's called DISinformation. The intent of disinformation is malicious deceit.

Ethical PR practitioners will refuse to participate in developing or issuing disinformation. Our job is to act on behalf of the public good.

MISinformation, although false and misleading, is information shared by those who believe it to be true at the time.

PR pros work to issue information that is complete and accurate. When incomplete or inaccurate information is discovered, it is immediately corrected with full transparency and accountability.

On the other end of the spectrum is MALinformation. Malinformation is truthful information that is used maliciously to cause harm.

Ethical PR practitioners will not participate in developing or issuing malinformation.

We stand for truth, transparency, and accountability.

We adhere to the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Code of Ethics and the Conscious Capitalism, Inc. Credo.

We stand for goodness, charity, compassion, and service.
We stand with our neighbors who are suffering.
We stand with the peaceful resistance.
We stand with the Walk for Peace.
We stand with Singing Resistance.
We stand with the people in every community under ICE occupation, and raise our voices against violence, oppression, racism, social injustice, and exploitation.
We grieve with the families of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
We stand with those demanding change and accountability.

We hold ourselves to something higher.

We honor Dr. Martin Luther King's teachings, bravery, and legacy on this National Day of Racial Healing.

Dr. King said, “We must see racism for what it is. It is the myth of the superior-and-inferior race. In the final analysis, racism is evil because its ultimate logic is genocide.” (King, M.L. (1967). The Other America. Stanford University.)

As we bear witness to the continued violence and erasure of racism, we are called to something higher.

“We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of history, there is such a thing as being too late. There is no time for apathy or complacency.” (King, M.L. (1967). Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break the Silence. Riverside Church. New York.)

How can we live as kindred?
How can we restore a spirit of reciprocity?
How can we work peacefully and positively?
How can we make reparation?
How can we reignite active hope?

Did you know Save Ohio Bees began as our passionate volunteer service project? Now an established conservation nonprofit, Save Ohio Bees has restored 379,346 sq. ft. of wildflower habitat and generated $16,230 in conservation funding over the last few years alone.

Beyond providing essential food and nesting areas for native bees, these habitats are critical to all pollinators and other forms of wildlife. They are also essential to humans, as they enhance ecosystem health and resilience.

One of the Save Ohio Bees' beneficiary programs helps protect & restore a 63-acre prairie preserve in Oberlin, funding wildflower seeds, native trees, invasive species removal, and native bee nesting places. The Oberlin Preserve is part of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy.

This year alone, Kate and her volunteers sowed wildflower seeds and planted wildflowers along the wooded trail, including 250 plants, shrubs, and trees. They also removed invasive species, like buckthorn and privet, to ensure that the healthy native plants can grow and flourish.

Since its initial restoration, more than 600 native wildflower plants, more than 50 native trees, and 30 acres of prairie seed have been sown here.

This land also has great historical significance as a former stop on the Underground Railroad, making it a symbol of bravery, hope, and recovery.

As we celebrate 20 years, we celebrate the ways we GET TO contribute to some of the most inspiring work in Ohio.

You can help make these magical, healing places happen in Ohio with your fee-free gift at saveohiobees.org/donate. Join us.

A good time was had by all at the Cooper's Hall open house and ribbon cutting. Family, friends, and local leaders came together alongside Vagaond Coffee & Catering and Haven Shala to celebrate this milestone moment.

We reflected on so much during this magical evening, including the stunning ways that opportunities and people manifested to make this restored space and these entrepreneurial ventures possible.

As with any inner vision, many things took a different shape than originally conceived, as anyone who has made a huge commitment and spent months working tirelessly can attest.

A lot of letting go was necessary to make room for all the dreams that this space now holds, and all the memories that will be made here in the days to come.

Congratulations, everyone. We are grateful to be a part of your story.

Cooper’s Hall is a historic event space in Bolivar for intimate celebrations.

Have you met Anne? Writer, chief optimist, twin mom, roller derby queen...With tons of talent, a huge heart, a penchant for problem-solving, and a phenomenal sense of humor, Anne is our account coordinator, and we are pretty darn lucky to have her.

Anne and Tracy first met when Anne was completing her public relations degrees at KSU. They collaborated on cool volunteer projects, like the PRSA Mentoring Program and the YouToo Social Media Conference.

Since then, Anne and Tracy have teamed up on press releases, articles, editing, website design, event promotion, and client relations, not to mention weddings, baby showers, and nonprofit adventures.

Through thick and thin, Anne has been more than a member of our team. She is part of our lives and part of our brand story.

And, someday, when we leap to the next adventure, she will still be a part of us, and hopefully, the best parts of us will still be a part of her.

Cheers, Anne. You rock.
