This is what it's all about. Businesses helping businesses. The small business world doesn't HAVE to be so cutthroat. It's possible to promote other businesses without taking away from your profits. This group is in my town and I am so happy to be a part of it. Does your city/county have a similar group? No? Why not start one? We started Project 528 to act as a FREE network to help Madison businesses promote each other. We're hoping to use the group to help bring people to Madison and to show people everything our town has to offer. Are you part of a similar group for your area?

We had an amazing turnout last night at the business gathering! Thank you to everyone that showed up. We had some great excitement about things happening for the Madison community! Next meeting is March 13th at 6pm at Madison Public Library.

I want to personally thank everyone that came out Saturday to our first ever Wonder Women of Business event. I'm already planning the next one. ;) Date and venue to be announced. This event was SO important to me. Nowadays people, but especially women, are so quick to judge each other and tear each other down. I'm hoping WE can change that. Let's start a trend where we actually get to KNOW someone instead of making assumptions. Let's realize that we're on the same team and start acting like it. Let's share each other's business posts and SUPPORT each other. I have witnessed first hand how incredible the results are when a group of women spend their time working together and supporting each other. Saturday was such a beautiful thing. Let's keep it going. I'm going to keep the page active and keep bringing you information on local women owned businesses and hopefully soon I'll have some information for the next event. ;) So if you have a business you think we should spotlight, send me a PM. I have owned and operated Blue Heaven Alpacas llc. for almost 20 years. In the beginning owning Alpacas was just an investment or so I thought. I started with a herd of 5 and at one point owned 66. Thru the years of buying, selling, breeding and showing my love for these magnificent animals has grown by leaps and bounds. Many people have no idea what an Alpaca is and think they are some kind of livestock. They are much more than that. They are very intelligent and can be taught to go thru an obstacle course. They are amazing 4H projects and are also used as therapy animals. Being able to get up close and personal with the Alpacas is a shock to many people. I spend many hours with mine and they are user friendly which surprises people when they visit my farm. Alpacas are hypoallergenic and come in 22 colors ranging from black through brown and whites including subtle shades of maroon, peach and gray which has led me to processing their fleece each year after shearing. Alpaca fleece is warmer than sheep's wool and has many uses from insulation to the finest piece of clothing money can buy. Alpaca fleece offers many advantages with the emergence of eco conscious consumers the expected demand for Alpaca fleece is expected to increase tremendously. Second phase of the business has been to open a store stocked with items made from Alpaca fleece. Many of the items are hand made from the fleece of my own Alpacas.
My free time is spent with grand children and friends.

Hello! My name is Jennifer Gunn. I am the owner of Bracken Moss Farm Fine and Rare Fibers right off the square in Madison Village, Ohio. The shop is in its second year of offering a blend of everything from raw fleece, roving, combed top, yarn (we have a selection of hand dyed and hand spun yarns from all sorts of natural fibers), knitting and crochet notions, spinning and weaving supplies, needle and wet felting supplies, books, finished projects including handmade project bags, and a bunch more, to local and visiting fiber artists and enthusiasts from all over Ohio and more. I attempt to source our supplies as local as possible and like to offer consignment for local fiber artists. I also try to bring attention to fibers from different and rare breed sheep as well as other natural fibers including milk, soy, peppermint, banana, and even newspaper! I got the idea of opening a shop for other fiber people after purchasing a small flock of fine wool, rare breed sheep currently listed on The Livestock Conservancy's list of critically endangered breeds and fell into the fiber rabbit hole! Now, I want everyone to jump right in! In addition to owning the shop, I am currently conducting an independent research project called The Great Sheep Expedition and am a new indie author with my first book due out in October. I also can't forget to mention my husband. My name is Heather Gragg and I am the owner of Caliber Cupcakes. I am a self-taught baker & decorator. I am an in-home baker where I live with my two sassy and imaginative daughters, Ryleigh and Olive. I spend many hours in my small kitchen building my business with those two girls as taste testers!

I began my business in 2011 baking and decorating cupcakes for family, friends, and co-workers. I took a couple years off while having my children and perfecting flavor combinations and practicing my decorating skills. Today I am in full force providing cupcakes to an array of events. From smaller gathers like family dinners or birthday parties to large events like weddings, showers, and graduations. I have dietary options such as Gluten Free too! I have recently began my “Pupcakes” line so now I’m even providing cupcakes to your fur babies!

My name is Marlene Debeljak and I am the owner of La Bonne Vie Designs (the good life in French). In my own personal "Bonne Vie" I reside in Mentor and love spending time with my friends and family. I design bags, jewelry, assemblages, baby items and so much more. Most of my original creations feature vintage items. I have been a vendor with the Country Living Magazine Fairs for over 10 years.
