Friday spicy hot marketing tips for you to roll around in your brain while you log off for the weekend:

🤢 Stop listening to old school big corporate marketing tactics. It's 2023. That's not what we are aspiring to be. We are the future, not the past.

📣 Know who your audience is. Who does your brand's ethos resonate with? Who is mildly intrigued by what you have to offer? Who is the target for your message?

👯 Know who your COMMUNITY is. This is different than your audience. You need to know who is your ride or die, feel it in their BONES type of supporter. Who is going the extra mile for your brand? Who is so supportive and so aligned with your ethos that they are repping you everywhere?

🤷‍♀️ Embrace not knowing. Embrace figuring it out as you go. Embrace abandoning tactics for better ones. Embrace failure. Things change constantly, you are going to need to lovingly embrace figuring it out as you go.

💚 Focus on giving more than asking. Yes, you have to tell the people what you are offering. But.....can't you get clever and find a way to do that while also giving them a taste of your skill, knowledge, and compassion?

How do you know where to show up online?

I take a lot of things into consideration when advising clients where they can make the most impact for their brands, but it essentially boils down to three questions:

1. Are your people there?
2. What type of content works there?
3. Is the time it takes to make that content worth the potential progress towards your goals?

I use my face and the color green in TONS of my content. This isn't just because I'm a self obsessed queen with a favorite color (though that is true too). It's so that you see the color green or my face and know what happening next.

A lot of times in life, you are talking to the wrong person.

When you are posting for your brand online, it's really easy to start talking to the wrong people. Often, you are talking to folks in your industry instead of talking to the folks who most need your products or services.

When you are working on your social content, focus on the FAQ that potential customers have about your brand or industry. It might feel "too basic" but trust me, if you really assess what your clients need, it is likely going to be the basics that you can provide.

It does NOT need to be complicated, but it DOES need to work.

The time you invest in marketing your brand online needs to be intentional and impactful. Your content needs to resonate with the people who are going to give you the dollars. Anything else is a waste of time.

How do you make sure your brand's social media is working? Focus on the client. What do they want? What do they need? How can your content serve that up hot to them?

Here's what you need to tell your audience when you are reloading, refreshing, or taking a break from social media:

Nothing.

No. Thing.

Not one thing.

If you have obligations with current clients, obviously you need to communicate those things. If you are hopping off social for a few hours, days, weeks, months, you are not required to announce anything.

Unplug. Focus on you. Without your mental health there is no brand.
