Matthew 7:1-3 (ESV)
Judging Others
1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
Chapter 7 is the ending of the sermon on the mount. In which Jesus makes many moral judgements on how we as the called in Christ to live in the family of God.
Jesus here is not teaching us not to judge. He rather is teaching us to self reflect and take the LOG 🪵 out first from our own eye (life) so that we can lovingly help others remove the SPECK from their eye (life).
Moral of the story is. What family you live in there are ways to conducting healthy relationships. All families have a mode of operation. The family of God has the Bible as a means to educate us on how we are grow in our new adopted family.
Jesus never taught not to make judgements these verses are clearly taken out of context by Christians and non-Christians alike. When they are called out on their moral behaviors.
