There are no mindless tasks when it comes to crafting compelling copy. I know that when I sit down to work, my concentration needs to be 100%. Which is why this picture is so funny. 
Despite the difficulties, I've made the decision to avoid full-time daycare to balance work with spending time with my kids. That means juggling work and motherhood while also trying to create beautiful childhood memories for my children that don't just involve hearing me say, "If you want to stay with me, you need to be calm and quiet".
Weekends are full of meal preparation, catching up with house tasks, and trying to spend quality time with my family. It's not always easy, but I'm committed to finding a way to make it work.
If you're a working parent struggling to balance your job with your family life, know you're not alone. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, and it's okay to ask for help when you need it.

Let's never forget the importance of a human sounding board. In my case, my lovely husband. 💕

💡 He's not a writer, but he's great to bounce ideas off.

He's also great for not asking too many questions, I suppose because by now he's used to seemingly senseless questions coming out of my mouth. Because when I'm writing an article for a client about kitchen makeovers and need a simile for clean, clear glass, I can ask "what food is clear?" and get an imaginative answer from a brain that isn't buried in the nitty gritty of the SEO and word count.

Oh, the answer was 'wet rice paper' by the way. Kitchen windows as clean as wet rice paper. Perfection.

It's two years later and I'm still hunting for a copy of my own!

Sadly, my favourite childhood book had only 1 print run. This is a library copy and I was lucky to get my hands on it. I'll spend the next many years scouring second hand bookshops until I find a copy.

Here's my question - are your favourite childhood books still popular today?

I love second-hand books. They are so much a part of the literary ecosystem and, I feel, pay homage to the authors who spent so much time working on their stories. I love to see good books find a new loving home!

📚 I went hunting through my local second-hand book store a while ago and came across these - Peeling the Onion by and Ghoststop by .hathorn - which I remember reading in primary school!

It's been 20-something years since I read them. Think I'll love them as much? (I think I will! ❤️)
