Snapchat launching a new AI chatbot to its paid Snapchat+ subscribers.
Right now, users spend on average about 30 minutes on Snapchat per day. So, by introducing a new chatbot, I believe the goal is to increase user engagement: what they do and how they spend their time on the app.

The new chatbot provides personalized recommendations for users, such as gift ideas, recipe suggestions, or maybe even travel options.

Social media platforms are all about engagement, so whether it’s a chatbot, a marketplace, a VLOG channel, the platforms will always look for ways to get you to stay more on the app.

One very important aspect of that is user-generated content. A lot of us provide replies and reviews and engage, whether we’re buying something on Facebook Marketplace or providing an opinion or joining a conversation on Twitter. And companies encourage UGC as a proven method for Word-of-Mouth Marketing.

The Power of the Brand:

Zellers is making a comeback!

When I first came to Canada back in 2000, Zellers was one of the most prominent department stores I have begun to experience.

Their slogan “Where the lowest price is the law” was a true staple! Compared to all the other big box retailers, their prices were low, yet quality was not compromised in general.

When Zellers started closing down, a lot of Canadians felt they were losing something because of the deep rooting of the Zellers brand in the Canadian consumer’s mind.

The Zellers brand which was founded in 1931, kept on building and associating with its customers for years, and when it was departing the marketplace, the brand did not fade away. People still talked about how Zellers provided good pricing and competition. There was a connection that was built with the brand over the years!

Recently, when Zellers announced its comeback for this year, people were pleasantly surprised. Then that nostalgic feeling for the brand that Canadians know and love started to resurface rapidly.

That’s the Power of the Brand. That’s why companies need to work on their brands and keep building it as they grow. It takes time, effort, money, and above all compelling marketing communications to keep building your company’s brand.
