Performing Arts Lakefield (PAL) hosted thier last concert of the 2023/2024 season at the Lakefield United Church on SUnday June 9. The performance featured Jordan John as lead vocalist and multi-instrumental sensation along with his father, Prakash John on bass. It was PALs first performance at their new venue where their 42nd year will kick off in September. For more infomration on thier 2024/2025 season, visit performingartslakefield.org.

The Selwyn Firefighters Association hosted their Pancake Breakfast on Sunday morning at the Bridgenorth Firehall. This annual event has been a tradition in Bridgenorth for more than 30 years and has raised thousands of dollars for the community. Visitors to the firehall explored the firetrucks and mingled with the firefighters. Pictured above are Dave Garrett and Theresa Butwell.

The Lakefield & District Lions Club hosted a fundraiser for Peddle for Hope, Cops for Cancer on Saturday May 18th. The Lions set up their food truck at the Buckhorn Foodland where proceeds from the day went directly to Cops for Cancer.

Irish Millie and her father Murray performed to a sold out crowd at the Christ Church Community Museum on Friday May 3. Together they performed a number of Irish fiddle tunes that hand the crowd stomping and clapping along. Her concert was a fundraiser for the museum to repair their bell tower. The Christ Church Community Museum will open to the public on July 1st.

The Township of Selwyn hosted a Grand Reopening of the Old Post Office located at the corner of Queen and Bridge Streets in Lakefield over the weekend. Council was on hand to honour the occasion. Performing Arts Lakefield (PAL) hosted The Fretless, with a special guest on vocals, in the Bryan Jones Theater at the Lakefield College School on Sunday April 21. The Fretless are a Juno Award winning quartet that had the audience captivated by their unique sound and fun atmosphere. This was the last performance PAL will host at Lakefield College School as they move to a new location. Full story inside this edition along with top stories such as
