It was an honour to speak to so many veteran's in the lead up to Anzac Day this year. I particularly loved Dave and Harry's story - what a pair!

They may not have trained together, nor did they serve together, but in retirement their service have allowed them to form an unwavering bond. More than 40 years post service, David Cummings and Harry Belcher reside in Bolton Clarke's Inverpine retirement community.

When asked about the secret to their 70 years of marriage, Jim and Lil couldn’t agree on an answer but Jim reckons it has something to do with "Saying yes".

All it took were eyes locking on an Oakey farm more than 70-years-ago to bring Bolton Clarke Milford Grange retirement living residents James and Lillian Lane together for the long haul.

It was an honour interviewing Olympian Brenda Carr in the lead up to International Women's Day. In an era where she faced hurdles unlike anything we'd know as women today she accomplished some remarkable feats in her chosen sport - feats which have laid the groundwork for many women pursuing professional sports today.

Empowering women to Press for Progress is the theme of International Women’s Day 2018 but for Olympian Brenda Carr, 81, it’s a theme she’s followed throughout her long athletics career.

These two were absolute characters! It's beautiful the things that can bring people together.

Having worked in the farming sector for much of their lives, a move into a Retirement Village was a big change for Dennis and Elmor, but doubts soon vanished and a friendship was forged thanks to a combined love of bee-keeping in their new home at Bolton Clarke’s Westhaven Village.

When Bert took his wife on his bike all those years ago it was the start of their lifelong romance. So on his 100th birthday it was only fitting he got to re-live one of his favourite memories.

Bolton Clarke supports more than 150 Centenarians across Australia through at-home support services, retirement living and residential aged care. Bert Drury recently celebrated his milestone birthday at Bolton Clarke's Galleon Gardens site in Currumbin.
