Don’t Ignore Me - Short Film has been nominated for the 2026 AACTA Awards, which makes this the first time in the AACTA’s 68-year history that a mobile-shot film has been recognised at this level.
[AACTA is generally considered the equivalent to USA’s Academy Awards.]

This also makes CHARLI FLETCHER one of the youngest directors to be nominated in the Short Film category and the only Indigenous filmmaker represented.

"...fashion isn’t about clothing, well not just. It’s about the spirit of the times. You can tell what decade, what era, by the clothes that were worn at the time. Clothing is the ultimate zeitgeist marker.

Dior created his 1947 collection as a backlash to the austerity and lack of everything during war times [when has Europe not been at war] and… Mr Dior preferred women to be like “flowers”. He preferred them in a vase, delicate, with a waist that required entrails to be removed.
[...] his designs for Women were about how he wanted them to look. [...]
Aesthetics first, comfort be damned. Male designers think about the viewer. Women designers think about the wearer.
There is room for both because yes, dressing a Woman is big fun, I get it boys, Women are such dolls.
We’re just so darn pesky with our demands for rights and all."

As “inclusive” as NGV feels they are, they could do with some Melanin and expansive thinking starting with their “key people“. National galleries have a duty to not just elevate and expand their visitors’ cultural horizons but also represent the diverse cultural population they purport to want to educate
…but Arts in Australia is very much a gatekept enclave.

“Key People” almost always looks like a cabal, “diversity” is dependent on what gender/’minority’/”marginalised community/multicultural grouping is trending in the Euroworld, the latter’s denizens truly do believe they are the world’s saviours. Cute. Like how children think they’re superheroes.

Now we have toddlers in pale, adult size skinsuits with strap-ons for all genders, making decisions for a global majority."

"The Director of the Oceania Centre at USP is a white passing euro-kailoma [has kaiViti blood but looks white and is treated as white so still thinks and feels she is superior] woman from England who revealed her true colour when she disrespected NSWCPC, its Chairperson, the Founder of Pacific Runway and the platform.

Initially the Director of OCUSP gushed about the subject, books and their importance and then... crickets.

The valuable books languished at Dragon Music for months.
Dragon Music Fiji had kindly sponsored the freight of the [heavy boxes of] books to Fiji but delivery to final destination was not expected.
Seeing as USP and the OC has bsuiness with Dragon Music, having USP personnel collect the books seemed to be a non brainer.

The OCUSP Durector didn't know of Dragon Music.

I did find it strange that a purported expert in Fiji history [whose supposed main area of expertise is TEXTILE specifically PACIFIC] had no idea what Dragon Music stood for in Fiji nor who Ken Janson was!
[The latter is a crime]

I have been told by local media and artist communities that she is bigoted against IndoFijians, non climbable social people and Accomplished Women."
