Got some great kudos today from my favorite sister. So glad to be a part of your journey Tandem For Two!
Today is and I'm going to tell you about my partner in dumpster diving and junking, my cohort in adventures, my confidant and closest friend and she's also my marketing and web guru, my sister Vicki.
My orange tandem bike first came into my life when my sister took me on a 100 mile yard sale road trip across Illinois. The pick up truck didn't have AC, the motel was a little sketchy, but we had some of the best food in diners and by women's clubs across the state while we piled that truck high with our antiques and finds. One of the last stops was a farmer's barn and in it I found my orange 1968 Montgomery Ward tandem bike. She didn't see how we would get it to fit, but our dad trained us well in the art of packing and I insisted it come home with me. This is the same tandem that is in my logo today and is such a great symbol of how we ride in this life together.
I took this picture on Mackinac Island the day my sister and I and our girls went to my first pop-up show. She encouraged me to do it, live streamed video of me while I talked with customers, and celebrated with me with drinks at the Pink Pony.
She is my sounding board in business and in life, is so creative, and makes me think outside the box and in non symmetrical ways (I am still an engineer at heart). She has also revolutionized my marketing plan (I actually have one now), created a website and ecommerce store, and has gotten me to blog and create content to share each month. My business wouldn't have the visibility that it has today without her.
Vicki Harrison Design I love you and love how you've turned your talents into a freelance business and a mission of helping other small businesses!
