2011 ~ JDP began publishing with one book, "Julia, Coming Home."

"Winning a semi-finalist position in Zondervan's First Novel contest, and second place in another publisher's new novel award, I felt confident that 'Julia, Coming Home' was a pretty good book. However, I balked at jumping through the tweaking editors required and and began an independent company instead. There are close to 750 Julia's now in print.

Thanks to Cretia Prout, who did the book cover; Stephanie Byrd, who edited and typeset, Kristi Gilman-Miller who who took the front photo (including the mysterious reflection) and my headshot. And a special thanks to Gwen Philipsen, who believed in this book enough to pay for the upfront costs out of her own pocket!

Would I go the same route if I had it to do over again? Don't know. But it's been a great ride!"

My husband, Mark S. Houston, believes that an ideal partner in marriage will do three things:
1) Draw you closer to God
2) Love you more than they love themselves
3) And give you the support to be better than you could ever be alone.

Thank you for supporting me all these 47 years of marriage and 6 years of business, dear one, I could NOT have done this without you and your undying support!

After deciding to begin my own publishing company, I needed a name . Being creative by nature, I loved the challenge of finding a name that best represented my calling as a publisher, but the weight of the public pronouncement was heavy. After all, who was I to think I could actually be a publisher. To whistle up my courage, I assured myself (and friends I talked to) that I would only be publishing my own books.

My heart also remembered:
Psalm 103:13&14~
"As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust."

And so, a publishing company was born.

About "With God... through an Irish Window":

Two friends traveled to Ireland with a lilt in their hearts and their hands clasped in friendship. As they returned home in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, they decided to write together the fourth book in Cone's "With God" series. (The first three were, "With God... on a Tanzanian Safari," "With God... on Ancient Paths," and "With God... through French Doors." ) This book, "With God... through an Irish Window," is full of the authors' adventures, thoughts, prayers, and observations. Their daily devotionals include one or more of their personal photos, a meditation on some site or element of Ireland, and are enhanced by pertinent scripture, and joined by a poem to inspire.

From shrouded, pagan beginnings, to times of peaceful monastic rule, to recent centuries of strife and suffering, we see an extraordinary landscape in Ireland. Countryside vistas and rich history draw us to contemplate Ireland's unique beauty, and to identify with its populace. In this book, the reader will see the Emerald Isle through the eyes of the author and her poet-friend, and peering deeper, will experience an invitation to behold the profound truths of God.
