Last Thursday, we spent the morning speaking with BA Digital Marketing students at Birmingham City University about the realities of working in the industry, the soft skills that actually matter, and what helps people stand out early in their careers.

Alongside Hannah sharing her journey from in-house marketing to Managing Director, Ben also spoke about his own route into the agency through his Masters placement, which led to securing a part-time role with us.

One of the biggest themes across both talks was that progression in this industry rarely comes from just technical ability alone. The people who stand out are usually the ones who take ownership, show curiosity, adapt quickly, think commercially, and actively look for ways to improve things.

Really appreciate BCU for having us in and great to see so many students already thinking seriously about where they want to take their careers next!

Earlier this month, Hannah spoke with Fiona at kbb Birmingham to get real insights on what will matter most to her clients.

Most businesses aren’t short on ideas, but turning those ideas into what actually matters to their audience is the challenge we see time and time again.

A lot of businesses think marketing is working because they’re getting clicks, leads or reach...

But that’s not always the best measure.

For us, one of the clearest signs that marketing’s working is when the conversation changes.

You stop having to chase and over-convince people, and you stop filling the pipeline with people who were never right in the first place.

Instead, you start attracting better aligned enquiries. People come in with more trust, they understand your value earlier and sales conversations become much easier.

That is why our focus is never just on generating activity. It’s on building the right positioning, clearer messaging and stronger trust so marketing brings in the right people, not just more people.

Because good marketing isn’t just about creating attention; it should also be building momentum.

We’re excited to share a new chapter for Rewind Creative 🎉

Hannah is stepping into the role of Managing Director after her huge contribution to the agency as Client Services Director, leading client relationships, delivery and growth with real commitment and consistency. It is a move that feels incredibly well earned and marks an exciting next step for both Hannah and the business.

At the same time, Matthew is moving into a Strategy Director role as he continues building True North, a new wellness manufacturing company. He will still play a key role in shaping client strategy and direction at Rewind, while focusing more of his time on growing the next venture.

This is a positive step forward all round and really reflects the strength of the business we’ve built, the people behind it, and where we’re heading next.

A busy start to the week at the kbb Birmingham show with Raison Home UK!

We were there with the team capturing content, speaking with suppliers and documenting some of the conversations happening across the industry. The show always gives a great snapshot of where the home improvement market is heading, and there’s clearly a lot of energy in the sector right now.

There’s innovation happening across the sector, new product ideas being launched and loads of good conversations between designers, suppliers and partners.

Our role was to capture live insights and perspectives from Raison Home’s team of UK designers, as well as the latest product trends that homeowners will be most interested in, bringing this all together into content that really demonstrates their level of expertise that they consistently deliver for their clients.

Looking forward to rolling this content out over the coming weeks!

Nearly three years in and our partnership with Raison Home UK feels more like an extension of the same team.

From the start, this was never about short-term campaigns or quick wins. It was about building a marketing strategy that could support a national master franchise while still working at an individual franchise level. Two very different challenges, with one joined-up approach.

We work closely with the UK leadership team on long-term direction, from brand positioning and audience insight to content, paid media and performance. At the same time, we move that strategy into something practical for franchisees, shaping local lead generation, messaging and content that reflects how homeowners actually make decisions.

What makes this partnership work is trust and context. Our understanding of the commercial model, the pressure points, and what success looks like both for the master brand and for franchisees running their businesses day to day. That only comes from time and being involved in the detail.

This is where we do our best work. Strategy with room to flex, insight-led testing, and results that build over time. We’re of what we’ve built together so far and excited about what comes next!

High quality content isn’t about expensive cameras. It’s about clear ideas, relevant messaging and real conversations that understand your audience.

How can likes turn into traffic?

Likes don’t equal traffic. Clear positioning does. If your audience doesn’t instantly see “this is for me,” posting more just amplifies confusion instead of clicks.
