AI finally makes giveaway planning something you can finish in an afternoon.

Planning a giveaway used to take a full day. Prize strategy, entry mechanics, 5 emails, promo copy for three platforms, and compliance language all needed writing before anything could launch.

AI changes that. You can generate prize ideas for your audience, draft your email sequence from prompts, and produce promo copy for every platform you're sharing on.

The trick is reading it out loud afterward and editing the phrases you'd never actually say.

What AI can't do is run the actual giveaway. Entry tracking, fraud detection, and winner selection need dedicated software.

That's where RafflePress comes in. The two tools handle completely different parts of the process.

The highest-leverage thing you can add: a refer-a-friend mechanic. When entrants share unique links to earn extra entries, reach can multiply 2-5x without any ad spend.

One thing worth knowing: giveaway posts get roughly 3x the engagement of regular posts, but email converts better for actual entries. Build your sequence first.

One more thing: follow up with non-winners within 72 hours. A consolation offer while the campaign is still fresh converts better than anything you'll send cold.

Have you tried planning a campaign with AI yet? Would love to hear what prompts have worked.

There's a reason some giveaways stay stuck at 200 entries while others go viral. It's not the prize.

It's the mechanics.

When you structure your giveaway to reward people for referring friends, you don't just get more entries. You get better ones.

People referred by a friend convert 3 to 5 times better than cold traffic. They already have a reason to trust you before they even land on your page.

Here's the setup: give bonus entries for successful referrals. Someone signs up, shares their link, and earns extra entries every time a friend joins.

The prize stays the same. The reach grows on its own.

Launch to your email list first. Your existing subscribers are your most reliable early promoters, and early momentum makes the giveaway look active to new visitors.

RafflePress makes the whole mechanic easy to set up in WordPress. No coding, no manual tracking.

You spent time getting that post to rank. Visitors come in, they read, and then they leave.

No email captured, no way to reach them again. Just a bounce stat and a missed opportunity.

A giveaway embedded directly in the post changes the equation. Instead of hoping a reader finds your signup form, you give them a reason to enter.

Start with your highest-traffic article, the one answering a question people keep coming back to search. Readers arriving through organic search are already qualified.

Prize relevance matters more than prize value. A niche prize tied to your topic attracts subscribers who'll actually care about your future content.

Run it for 7 to 14 days. Add a refer-a-friend action and every entrant spreads the giveaway to their own followers organically.

RafflePress runs natively in WordPress and connects to 15+ email platforms. The embed takes about 30 seconds once your giveaway is configured.

What's the highest-traffic post on your blog right now? That's your starting point.

Your giveaway deserves its own page.

Sending traffic to your homepage or a buried blog post spreads attention across too many goals. A dedicated landing page, focused entirely on your contest signup, converts much better.

Here's the good news: you can build one in WordPress in about 15 minutes. No coding, no developer, no waiting.

Start with a drag-and-drop builder, pick a template, add your headline and giveaway details, connect your email service (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, GetResponse, and more), and publish.

What you get: a fast-loading page with no distracting navigation, leads flowing straight into your email list, and a proper home for your RafflePress giveaway from day one.

Most giveaways are set up to win the wrong game.

They're optimized for entry count when they should be optimized for buyer fit. The result is a long list of contacts your sales team can't do anything with.

The fix starts with the prize. Gift cards and gadgets attract everyone. An industry tool subscription, a professional development course, or a niche conference ticket only appeals to people already working in your space. That one decision cuts your unqualified entries significantly.

The second lever is the entry form. Add a field for job title, company size, and one real qualifying question. Fewer people will complete it. That's the point.

RafflePress makes the whole setup straightforward. You can build a qualifying entry form, set your prize rules, and have a campaign running in around 30 minutes.

We put together 12 specific B2B giveaway ideas with the setup for each one. If you're using giveaways for pipeline, it's worth a read.

I see this a lot with giveaways: good prize, solid promotion, and then the entries just... stall.

Most of the time it's not the prize. It's the timing.

November and December are the strongest months for most brands.

Tuesday through Thursday outperform other weekdays.

And giveaway length matters more than people expect — most entries come in the first and last 24 hours, so a month-long giveaway often just loses momentum in the middle.

The sweet spot is 1-2 weeks, launched on a Tuesday, with a 3-day tease before you go live.

Have you noticed a timing pattern in your own giveaways?

Most giveaway runners pick one platform and run everything there.

It works for a day or two. Then the algorithm moves on and entries slow down, even though the contest is still live.

pages reach about 1.37% of followers per post on average.
Instagram is around 3.5%.
You can have a good prize and still miss most of your own audience on any given day.

Running promotion across multiple channels puts it in front of people who would have missed it entirely.

Email especially — open rates average around 42%, and a three-email sequence (launch, mid-contest, 24-hour notice) can outperform a lot of small ad budgets.

The key is hosting your entry form on your own site.
Every channel feeds into one place you control, and you can track which ones are actually driving entries.

What's your Easter marketing plan this year?

Most businesses either skip it or throw together a generic sale the week before. That's a missed window. Easter spending is real, and 26% of shoppers say they specifically plan to buy from small businesses.

The tactics that work aren't complicated. A flash sale with a 24-48 hour deadline. A giveaway where bonus entries go to people who share or follow. Even a website egg hunt where visitors find hidden discount codes as they browse.

One giveaway campaign added 3,200 email subscribers in a week for WPBeginner.

If your contest isn’t generating ROI, the problem usually isn't the email copy. It’s the setup.

High-performing campaigns rely on structure, not luck.

The Fix:
• Goal: Qualified Leads > Awareness
• Prize: Your Product (filters freebie seekers)
• Promo: 4-Email Sequence

Your giveaway gets one entry per person because you make them wait 2 weeks for results.

Here's the fix: instant-win mechanics.

Spin-the-wheel popups, scratch cards, score predictions—anything that reveals a prize RIGHT NOW.

Why it works: Your brain hates unfinished tasks. It's called the Zeigarnik Effect. That's why you can't walk away from a progress bar at 80%.

Real example: MotionGrey uses a spin-to-win popup for discounts. Visitors enter their email, spin, and instantly see what they won. Even landing on 5% off feels like a win because it's immediate.

The lesson? Stop asking people to care about something in the future. Give them instant gratification.
