At iconic32, we are rewriting the future by redefining pop culture. For us the “POP” in pop culture stands for “Person of Purpose.”
The future no longer belongs to those that only do “cool” things just to be cool. The new superheroes are those that create paradigm shifts in popular culture for the purpose of social good.
Today’s Person of Purpose, Leonardo DiCaprio, has been nominated for six academy awards, winning his first in 2016 for his leading role in The Revenant (2015). He has also had leading roles in many box office classics, such as, Romeo & Juliet (1996) Titanic (1997), Catch Me If You Can (2002), Gangs of New York (2002), Blood Diamond (2006), The Departed (2006), Inception (2010), Shutter Island (2010), The Great Gatsby (2013), and Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
While DiCaprio boasts one of the most impressive acting resumes in the world, his work as a philanthropist is extremely admirable. The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation was founded in 1998, and strives to promote environmental awareness. The main focus of the foundation is illustrating the affects of global warming and supporting emerging renewable energy sources.
This commitment to both his craft and social good make DiCaprio a true person of purpose.
