Fun afternoon learning Mah Jongg with Esther at the gorgeous Houmas House and Gardens! 🀄️🌿

Beautiful surroundings, yummy lunch, great company, new friends and a new game to learn—I’d call that a day well spent. Looking forward to playing again soon! 🇾🇹

After a great walk… I read this! Love having fun and doing it right!

Most people think a healthy meal ends when they put the fork down.

But inside your body, that is when one of the most important aging windows begins.

You did the hard part. You skipped the ultra-processed food. You made the lentils, the greens, the sweet potatoes, the beans, the herbs, the olive oil. You gave your body real food.

Then modern life does what it always does.

It puts you back in a chair.

And that one piece is easy to overlook.

Because even a beautiful whole-food, plant-based meal still has to be handled by your body. Glucose begins entering your bloodstream. Insulin starts responding. Your digestive system gets to work. And your muscles are waiting to see whether they are needed.

When you sit for hours after eating, it does not mean the meal was “bad.”

It means your muscles were never invited to help.

That matters because your muscles are one of your body’s most powerful tools for using the energy from food. When you move after a meal, even gently, those working muscles start pulling glucose from the bloodstream and putting it to use.

When you stay seated, glucose tends to rise higher and linger longer. That can leave you feeling heavier, foggier, hungrier, and more likely to reach for something sweet a few hours later. Over time, repeated glucose spikes can feed inflammation, oxidative stress, insulin resistance, and the faster aging process many people are trying so hard to avoid.

But when you walk after eating, you change the message.

Your body does not have to manage that meal from a chair. Your muscles join the process. Blood sugar has a place to go. Energy is used instead of left circulating. The meal becomes fuel, not a crash waiting to happen.

This is why a short walk after eating can feel so powerful.

It supports steadier blood sugar.

It helps protect your energy.

It supports better metabolism.

It can reduce the cravings that come from sharp rises and drops.

It can help you feel clearer, lighter, and more focused after meals.

And it does not require a workout.

Just 10 minutes.

A slow walk after lunch. A few laps around the house after dinner. Light chores instead of sinking straight into the couch. A stroll outside with someone you love before the dishes are done.

In many of the world’s longest-living cultures, this kind of movement is not treated like exercise because it is built into daily life. People eat, then they walk home, sweep, garden, visit a neighbor, climb steps, carry food, tidy up, or simply stay on their feet.

Modern life separated food from movement.

And that separation changed the way our bodies experience meals.

So after your next meal, do not overthink it.

Give your body 10 minutes.

Not because the meal was wrong.

Because your healthy meal still needs your body to participate.

Follow along for more practical, natural steps to slow biological aging and live a longer, fuller life.

The tall ships are here for ✨Sail 250 New Orleans✨ and today is the final day to take in this incredible sight along the Mississippi River. ⛵️🌊

I had the chance to go yesterday with a few girlfriends, and we were hot but completely amazed. There’s something so beautiful about seeing these historic ships lined up against the New Orleans skyline — a once-in-a-generation experience that makes you stop and appreciate the history, craftsmanship, and adventure they represent.

If you haven’t made it down yet, today’s your last chance! ⚓️

Sometimes the unplanned moments become the best memories. ❤️✨

While in Hoover/Birmingham, I realized Atlanta/Norcross was just too close not to rent a car and head off to see my baby brother and his precious family. 🚗💨

(Michael stayed in Birmingham/Hoover and golfed all day! ⛳️😂)

So much laughter, energy, and love packed into one short visit. I already miss those sweet faces. 🥹❤️

What’s the best spontaneous little trip you’ve ever taken?

Working backwards through the past week because there’s just too much fun not to share… 💫

Last night was phenomenal. The music, the venue, the perfect weather… and getting to hang out with my sons and their beautiful wives made it even sweeter. ❤️

We spent the evening at the Brandon Amphitheater in Mississippi listening to The Black Crowes & Whiskey Myers, singing along, laughing, people-watching, and soaking in one of those nights you wish you could bottle up forever.

More backwards adventures coming soon… 😉🎶

Well… nobody is more surprised than me that I’m having this much fun at the SEC Baseball Championship in Hoover, Alabama 😂⚾️

LSU pulled off an awesome win last night, and now they’re back at it tonight against Auburn at 8:00.

I may not know all the rules, but I do know we had an absolute ball last night 💜💛🐯Hoping for another LSU win tonight!

Turns out, Santa has GREAT taste in theater! 🎅🎭

We had the absolute best time at the Saenger last night watching The Book of Mormon. It was in our Christmas stockings and was well worth the wait! There’s nothing like the energy of live theater to remind you that 'Fun Life' is in full swing! 😜🥰

What’s the best show you’ve seen lately? We’re looking for our next theater date! 👇

Hallway refresh in progress! 🎨✨
There is something so satisfying about a fresh coat of paint. Michael and I have been working on the hallway (ceiling, trim, doors & walls) using Behr’s Beautiful White—it’s amazing how much brighter and more open it feels already!
Now that the walls are looking crisp, I’ve hit a crossroads: The Lighting. 💡

We couldn’t fit the whole squad into one frame because we were busy crushing different classes, but the Spring Bingo Challenge 🌸 energy is real!
So grateful for this incredible team (and friend group) for keeping the motivation high and the workouts fun. Whether we’re on the Reformer, yoga, Barre, Pumped up Strength, or cheering each other on from afar, we’re showing up and checking those boxes!
Happy 11th Birthday, Reform Fitness! 🥂✨
