Years ago when I re-imagined my life I envisioned being part of a community of conscious, life-affirming, compassionate and fun people. And I then I found the ManKind Project. (Actually they found me, thank Goodness!)
Thanks for being in my life!
One of the times I revel the most in this dream-come-true is at the semi-annual MKP BC Welcome Home Celebrations. I feel joy, pride, and hope when I sit in circle with men, women, and children who feel safe enough to risk to be vulnerable and speak their truth.
At times I witness authentic, genuine souls tentatively reaching out. Instead of judgement, rejection, hatred, and betrayal, they receive acceptance, love, and encouragement. It's so beautiful to see their surprise and their relieved smiles and to hear their laughter.
This coming Wednesday evening May 28 at 6pm in New Westminster we gather again - the whole community - to honour the brave men in our midst who courageously led the way in this endeavor by completing their Hero's Journey at the NWTA.
This is the only MKP event open to women and children and the public. It's the only chance that they get to sit in our midst and feel what it feels like to simply be ... a real person amongst men, real men, authentic men. It's such a rare chance.
So I urge you to come join us and invite your people. Anyone.
It's a yummy potluck and a sweet sharing circle.
See you and them there.
Admission Free. Seats can be claimed at:
An evening celebration and potluck dinner honouring the men who recently graduated the New Warrior Training Adventure. Everyone welcome.
