One thing I’ve noticed about many women in leadership is that we can quietly wait for someone to recognise we’re ready.
We tell ourselves that eventually someone will tap us on the shoulder, invite us into the room, or offer us the next opportunity.
The reality is, that moment often never comes.
Not because we’re not capable, but because no one else is responsible for giving us permission to step forward.
While we’re waiting to be chosen, others are putting themselves forward. It isn’t always because they’re more experienced or more qualified. Often, they’ve simply decided they don’t need an invitation.
This is one of the reasons I love working with women in business. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a woman recognise her own potential, back herself, and step confidently into the space she has earned.
Growth isn’t about waiting until you feel 100% ready. It’s about finding the courage to speak up, embrace new opportunities, and trust that you already have so much to offer.
The biggest shift comes when you realise you don’t need someone else to tell you it’s your time.
You get to decide that for yourself.
And if I can play even a small part in helping another woman see her value, find her voice, and step into her space with confidence, that’s work I’ll always be passionate about.
