A Simple Switch To Transform Your Marketing

Hey what's going on fellow reader...

Just wanted quickly to hop on the ol' Facebook and share a quick thought for you.

Something A LOT of businesses are struggling with right now more-than-ever is connecting with their target audience.

From what we’ve seen…

This is because of ONE single reason:

The stories they're telling themselves have changed... they just aren’t in the same headspace.

Look. Let's consider yourself as an example...

Do you ever hear that lil' voice in your head filtering everything you read?

I bet you could hear this inner-voice right now...

Listen as you sit in silence.
..Hear it?

Yeahhhh that one.

Truth is, we all have an internal dialogue.

It'll say things like:

"Yep"

"Nope"

"Okay, what does that mean?"

"Is that true?"

All those sorts of things... Right?

Get this, your customers are the EXACT same.

Only now?

Their voices have SHIFTED.

They aren't connecting with old marketing campaigns because they've got other things to think about (...and rightly so).

So here's THREE things YOU could do to stay ahead of the game:

1. Deep Dive Research on your current customers

- Why’d they buy?
- What swayed their decision to CHOOSE you?
- What else are they thinking about with the problem YOU solve?
..onto #2:

2. Using some good ol' common sense

(See... A lot of businesses are surprisingly missing the mark with this.)

You have to listen to the stories you're telling yourself and then picture your customer in the same 'boat'. You know your customers well enough, right? Then imagine how your product helps them RIGHT NOW.
..which leads me onto #3:

3. Reposition your marketing message

…this is KEY.

- Mining out the gold on how your new primary benefits come into play with the market in 2020
- Tweak your angles so you enter the conversation with where they’re at RIGHT NOW. Otherwise... you'll be left with zero eyes on your campaigns. Sounds harsh, but it's the truth. Don't be hatin' the messenger plz.

Without implementing these...

(unfortunately) what’s happening is that new-to-market competitors are STEALING a slice of your industry pie.

Yet this is where you could move mountains for your audience.

This is where those who adapt win.

This is where those who move with speed and precision will conquer their industries.

Question is...

If you solve a problem... are you truly connecting for your market right now?

Implement these tips and you'll be well on your way.

Hope it helps,
Shawn

A happy partner wanted to share his experience so far...

25/11/2019

Elon Musk and Tesla’s Cyber-Truck 15-Minute Marketing Miracle

Look behind you…

…right now.

Nobody is reading over your shoulder.

Your competition isn’t peering through your we**am.

It’s you, your digital device and this post.

With that in mind, when you write your copy, why are you writing as if someone is watching you?

Copy-writing isn’t about writing to please your competitors or mimicking them...

..hoping you will surpass them.

Copy-writing IS about helping your reader.

It's about helping your market and your audience connect with you and your product.

Copy-writing is about the desire to get a solution to their pain.

There are copywriters who spend weeks, days and months to lay down words that will get their audience to buy.

Most A-List copywriters want more than that.

We want our readers to react.

We want them to re-read the last sentence they skimmed.

We want them to lose themselves in our copy.

We want everything around them to disappear into nothingness.

There is a trick to getting your reader so completely enveloped by your copy they feel it deep within…

…they cannot look away.

When you realize you’ve captivated their senses, emotions and feelings...

..and begin to help them develop a new belief around your product…

…this is the moment you have their full attention.

Luckily, this isn’t a skill that takes months to hone.

This is a skill we all have developed since we were children.

The disconnect, for most marketers who suck at copy, is using this skill when someone cannot see you.

You use it when body language is present.

You use it when you can smile at them.

You use it when you can talk with your hands or gesture.

Look down at your right hand.

At this moment, is it placed against your keyboard or screen waiting to post your comment on this post?

Did you look down at your right hand when I told you too?

Did you look behind you when I told you too in the first line?

If not, did your mind ask, “Where is this going?”

There was some emotional response that occurred as a result.

There was a physiological reaction that occurred as a result.

Here’s the big question…

…while reading this far, did you stop thinking about your competition and focus on what is being said here?

When you write, or hire someone to write, copy…

…the ticket is writing to own the space your reader exists in right now.

It’s not about getting them to buy.

Your goal is to get them to sink into the page, post, or media with their entire being.

When done right, they will build anticipation to know:

- What’s next?

- How can I get what they are talking about?

- What’s beyond the next paragraph?

- How will this end?

It’s called a cliffhanger and it’s what every good story possesses.

It’s not until you learn to let go of the need to outdo your competition you will see how easy this can be.

Think about Elon Musk and his designer throwing that big, steel ball at the truck window.

Some expected it to bounce.

Others expected the glass to shatter into a million pieces.

Elon and his designer didn’t know what to expect, as they had been launching things at the glass 50 times that day.

Many in the media decided to focus on that singular flaw…not knowing the backstory.

Others decided to focus on what they didn’t like about the design of the truck.

We can all agree...

..the Tesla Cyber-truck got far more attention than any other story last week in the media.

Heck, you even forgot about Epstein for a 24 hour stint.

Now, while thinking about the last Cyber-truck meme you saw…

…think about your right hand.

Was it preparing to leave a witty comment or, were you lost in story?

More than likely, it was the former.

Where people who are fans of Sci-Fi.

Children of the eighties, and members of the Blade Runner club...

..realized how pivotal this moment was.

We remember watching Harrison Ford track down the bad guys with his flying car and his badass gun.

We remember him running through rainy streets...

..trench coat blowing in the wind on November 20th, 2019.

We also remember we’ve been waiting for November 20th, 2019 to get here...

..we have yet to receive what we have been promised (at least not the way we were told we would.)

For copywriters…

…we realize the brilliance of the Tesla Cyber-truck launch.

The timing, flaws, entertainment and design.

We realize we have seen marketing brilliance unfold…no matter what the stock prices tell us.

In that moment, at the Tesla facility…

…we saw a creator speak to a very distinct, handful of targeted individuals who didn’t even need to know about:

- The Solar cells on the top of the vehicle

- Extra storage under the rear of the bed

- Storage in the front of the vehicle

- How it will come in other colors

- The fact that there are no turn signals, side-view mirrors or auto-drive cameras present.

The true “Cyberpunks” of Generation X (today’s buyers of such luxuries) didn’t need to know all these details.

Copywriters like me realized…

…the Cyber-truck sold to a generation who is seldom talked to...

..within the day of The Boomer-Millennial Battle.

When that steel ball punched the glass…Gen X said,

“Hold my beer while I reserve this monstrosity!”

From minute 5 to minute 20 of the presentation…those who would buy, have already made a decision.

It was a 15 Minute-Miracle.

Copy-writing and selling are seldom about the hours you spend typing.

It’s about the 15-Minute Miracle.

It’s about that short, 15-minute stint where you were in the flow.

You are in a moment of selling fluidity.

You realize even the flaws in your copy feel natural to your reader and the unfolding of your story.

If it takes you longer than 15 minutes to get the gold down in print...

..then you should add copy-writing to your marketing and advertising budget immediately.

Especially when it takes some of us 15 minutes to spark a new feeling about copy, a new belief…

…a new understanding of how much is involved in writing the words.

Copywriters "Imagineer" a moment...

..in the minds of our prospects that mere mortals could never tap into.

Yep…we’re like regular writers, only cooler because we add dollars to your bottom line.

There is much more to it than I’m able to go through here.

Feel free to message me with questions you may have about what your copy needs, in order for your revenue to grow.

Not starting with your customers will destroy your business

“Hold up… what Shawn?”

Businesses do RAPIDLY disappear into the competition's hands forever and never truly know why.

So don't allow this to be you too.

Let me explain…

Pay attention to the following...

It’s simple really.

Converse with your customers.

Yes, that's right. Ask your current customers things.

Get to know them.

They ARE the strongest asset you have as a business. ANY business actually.

So really take some time...

Understand them.

Ask them the 5 W’s

Who, What, Where, When & Why

Ok, maybe not ALL five but those that are relevant to your research

“Why did you choose us?”

“How has our coaching helped you with your problem?”

“Why do you continue to work with us?”

“What’s really changed for you since finding us?”

I can go on and on

But you get my point

Learn EVERYTHING you can about them

And get creative with it guys

Do this and your marketing has instantly improved MASSIVELY

Common sense right?

"Uhmm, yep"

Yet no-one actually does this

If you knew how many businesses I speak to that have never actually pursued knowing their customers…

It’s astonishing…

But they’re happy to blow THOUSANDS of dollars on paid advertising

From this research and ACTUALLY understanding your customers, you’ll not only know more about them and what’s important, but you’ll be able to create new, relevant & rock-solid offers to attract your perfect potential customers

The more you know the better.

The secret steps to triple your revenue I learned from my first business mentor

I want to share some real value that I don’t ever see in the digital marketing space.

Digital marketers keep the real value to themselves

And it pi**es me off

They figure out how to sell in your niche and create watered down content that they sell in scalable products

So today I want to share some REAL value for you guys

I hear the same problems over and over again with clients

How to get prospects attention & interested in your business

It comes down to multiple variables

So for today, let’s first start with your offer

What is your offer?

Have a good think over this

And seriously ask yourself is this bringing REAL value to their market?

Am I really bringing value to the market?

Am I really solving a problem?

If not, I encourage a real self-reflection on your motives

If you are, then awesome

Let’s get started

So, the offer

“What should I offer Shawn?”

“Is it good enough?”

“What if my prospects don’t like it?”

You must first have one thing…

And you’ll never guess…

PROOF!

Proof that what you’re offering delivers quality, has REAL benefits, and you can back up your claims

That’s right, if we don’t have proof…

We don’t have credibility.

And if we don’t have credibility…

We don’t have trust.

Still with me?

Great.

And if we don’t have trust?

What don’t we have?

That’s right… no sales.

:’(

So how can we really know what is going to work?

Well you can do what all marketers swear by.

TEST.

But before we test, we can do some preliminary research. This is fundamental to online success.

If we really want to nail our marketing and not waste time testing bad ideas and unproven concepts then let’s go to the primary source!

Research is key because it minimises time wasted, accuracy in your targeting, conversion rates, EVERYTHING.

How do I conduct research, Shawn?

Now, this is an entire topic in itself and we at Leadhook Media follow many rigorous marketing processes but let me give you one that is our holy grail. Our bread and butter. Our.. ok you get the point.

You ready?

Ok, here it comes…

START WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Ask your current customers. Get to know them. Understand them. Ask them the 5 W’s. Who, What, Where, When & Why.

Ok, maybe not ALL five but those that are relevant to your research.

Let me give you some examples:

Let’s say I’m a Lawyer for example.

I’m going to ask current customers questions such as:

“Why did you purchase our services?”

“How has our service helped you with your problem?”

“Why do you continue to come back to us?”

I can go on and on.

Get creative with it guys.

The more you know the better.

From this research and ACTUALLY understanding your customers, you’ll not only know how about them and what’s important, but you’ll be able to create new (and relevant) offers to attract new potential customers and more importantly bring back current customers.

Want more clients with less effort?

Awesome. Then do this:

1. Become really, really, REALLY good at what you do

2. Give out free value upfront to showcase how good you are

3. Interlace that free value with hidden sales triggers that throw people into a highly converting funnel.

(This is things like metaphors that sell your product WHILE teaching, future pacing, making them imagine your consulting, trigger pain points, using social proof in a subtle & elegant manner, etc etc).

4. Refine, optimize, automate

5. Repeat with funnel after funnel until you have a dozen income streams.
