08/01/2026
2025 was practically a dumpster fire, but it ended with one of the best weeks I’ve had in a long time.
– Time with family.
– New marketing clients and prospects.
– Existing clients doing great things.
– A quick get-away on my way back to San Diego that included movies, a mansion, my favorite guy, and four-legged, furry friends.
2026 started out with the flu.
I’d set aside time when I returned home to plan for the year.
It’s a ritual I do every year, looking at where I was, what I want, and what it will actually take to get there.
In the past, I might have said f*ck it and dove back into my client work, saving the planning for my own business “later.”
This time, the forced pause reinforced something I see over and over.
Action creates information.
Space is what can turn that information into decisions.
But only if we decide to use it.
So this year, my annual planning is happening a little later than I’d prefer.
And it'll be better because of it.
(Cold meds notwithstanding.)
