Kirby Architecture is an independent architectural practice based in California. The project involved the development of a complete visual identity system and website, alongside practical design tools including title blocks and collaterals.
When Kirby established her own practice, the focus was entirely on the work itself. For several years the studio operated without a dedicated brand presence, relying primarily on reputation and client relationships. As the practice matured, the need emerged for a clear and thoughtful identity that could present her work publicly while remaining aligned with her personality and approach.
The challenge was to create an identity that could feel refined without becoming decorative, and present without drawing attention away from the architecture it represents. The solution was to reduce the brand language to its most essential elements.
At the centre of the system is the KA monogram. The letters K and A are integrated within a symmetrical geometric frame, forming a mark that is both structured and balanced. Clean linework suggests stability and clarity, while the contained form reflects the discipline of architectural thinking.
The geometry of the mark echoes the principles that guide Kirby’s work: harmony, proportion and thoughtful constraint. Its simplicity allows it to remain versatile — adaptable across architectural drawings, digital platforms and physical applications without losing presence. The wider identity continues this language of restraint.
