The Ganpati festival celebrated in Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, is famous all over the world. Ganpati idols in Mumbai are unique in themselves. The idol of Bappa installed by Mumbai's GSB Seva Mandal is discussed every year. The Ganpati of Gaud Saraswati Brahmin Mandal i.e. GSB Mandal status of the richest Ganpati. Last time Bappa's idol was decorated with 66 kg gold and 295 kg silver. This time Bappa's idol will be decorated with 69 kg gold ornaments and about 336 kg silver ornaments. This time GSB Mandal has insured the Ganpati pandal for Rs 400.8 crore. The pandal is being made completely fireproof and entry in it will be through QR code. This time Bappa's darshan will start from September 5 while the festival will start from September 7.
