Over the years working on branding and websites for small and micro artist and maker businesses, I’ve picked up loads of skills to help in all kinds of techy and designery ways. I’ve sort of become a bit of a handy man for my clients, doing the odd jobs that make them want to, and I quote, “poke their eyes out”. In this case I helped with her product images, which were slowing down her site and eating into her bandwidth usage allowance (potentially costing her money). So if you have any odd jobs that you just can’t be arsed with, I might be able to help you out too.

AI is great and all that. But will it ask the right questions about you and your business to create something that’s a true fit for you? I’m also relatively confident it doesn’t care if you succeed or not. A real human designer does. I know seeing my design work give confidence to my clients and help them succeed in their goals is really rewarding.

Fuzzy old JPEGs and really huge image sizes could be spoiling the visitor experience and slowing down your website. WebP is a new format that stays looking great and has a really small file size. Google loves it too so it could help your SEO efforts. Search for webP image converters. I’ve trained clients on ways to save and convert their images to use on their sites with online tools or software. If you have any questions let me know and I’ll be happy to offer any advice.
