Goliath Moth

Story time: I was growing these from their larva stage-“Goliath worms” OR “Horned Worms”- which is funny since they aren’t worms at all! During my time as a student teacher, I decided to add to my master teacher’s experiments for our Kindergarten class. We were teaching our students about life cycles and I thought it would be fun to compare/contrast butterflies and moths. Anyways, as time went on, after graduating from my credential program, I watched each caterpillar/larva disappear into their burrow(a fun fact about this species) to make their cocoon. Over the weeks, I thought I had killed them because none of the moths came up during their “incubation” period, so I lost hope and figured I might use the corps as a model for my future class. Well, today after I was on the phone I noticed something in the tank and was astonished to find a moth just sleeping like it was nothing!
