“My target market is all males between 18 and 75 who have a job.”
If that’s what your ad targeting sounds like, you’re in trouble.
Hi y’all, Bethany here.
I help companies build a long-term marketing strategy, and implement that strategy in stages to attract more ideal clients faster - even if you don’t have a massive marketing budget.
My primary tool is Facebook ads, but before I get into that…
..I have a secret to confess - I HATE CODING! Deep in my bones… something about it makes every nerve twitch and recoil.
That’s why I don’t code anything at all.
Because I don’t believe that to run a badass business I have to do everything myself.
Let the people who start seeing binary in their spaghetti-o’s handle the coding.
Why would I tell you that?
You see, part of running any business effectively means understanding what I’m the bomb at and what would best be handled by someone else.
If researching your market (thoroughly) and finding out what your competitors are doing before running your ads isn’t your jam… I’m your gal.
I’m a HUGE marketing nerd - seriously. I spend my weekends reading books and listening to podcasts about marketing strategies and the latest trends.
Because to me, it’s a game - a puzzle where you have pieces from 10 different pictures and I get to sort them out.
And I LOVE puzzles - my students put one together as a tribute when I left. *Cue the waterworks.*
However, there’s something you should know... I don’t come from a corporate background.
I started my professional life as a teacher.
To me, many gurus and sales folks come at sales backward.
They start with what they want instead of looking at what their clients need.
Being a teacher - you learn very quickly that you can’t help reach ANYONE if they don’t trust you.
Think back to your childhood - I’ll bet there’s a teacher that you LOVED. Why did you love that teacher?
What about a teacher that churned your stomach into a whirlpool every time you even thought about setting foot in their class?
Was the second teacher any less capable or intelligent? Maybe… but they probably knew their material well enough.
So why such severely different reactions? I’ll bet you dollars to doughnuts that the teacher you loved:
🍎Made you feel safe,
🍎Hyped you up every chance they got,
🍎And corrected you without making you feel like you belonged in
the corner with a dunce hat on.
Because they connected with you and genuinely cared about you as a person first and what you learned second.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that business relationships are different.
ALL relationships are person - person FIRST!
And your market can sense a bunch of bs “salesmanship tactics” a mile off.
Because marketing noise is everywhere.
Any successful market is saturated to the max!
So how in the hell do you stand out and get your product or service seen by the right people?
By flipping the script and focusing on the person first and how you can help them second.
That way, instead of one quick sale - you create a loyal customer for life.
Now, who doesn’t want that?
If my way of doing business resonates with you and sounds like something you want to be a part of, feel free to send me a message.
Here’s to building each other up!
Cheers,
Bethany
