Graphicommunication Graphics, Illustration, and Production-sourcing insights

I freelance, doing illustration and design, preparing ads and marketing materials, sourcing various kinds of production, and creating visual elements that developers use on their sites and apps. I get overflow art requests from agencies, printers, sign & decal shops, T-shirt & emboidery outfits, foil stampers, engravers, and so on. I've done work for agencies in ten states, and for graphics outfit

s or end users in 36 states and for people in nine other countries. In addition to commercial marketing graphics, I also do book covers and highly detailed historical renderings for air museums, air races, historical commemorative events, and collectors.

Along with the commercial marketing graphics you'd probably expect, I also field requests for historical illustrations, including aviation renderings like this one.

The US Navy was wanting to obtain fast interceptors to meet inbound Japanese threats, and ended up creating this monster, the F2G-1D “Super Corsair,” with its massive, 28 cylinder, Pratt & Whitney R-4360 “corncob” engine and a 4,400 feet per minute rate of climb. Goodyear, building Corsairs under license, was the sole contractor on these outrageous Super Corsairs.

This aircraft, built without a tailhook for Marine Corps usage, is shown in the markings it wore while undergoing tests at Pax River, Maryland. Later, the Super Corsair created quite a stir when it showed up on the postwar air racing circuit. Just imagine the performance of an aircraft with an engine that uses 56 spark plugs. Two rebuilt Super Corsairs, #54 in Red, White & Black, and, more recently #74 in Blue & White vintage racing colors, have flown in competition at Reno's Stead Field in the National Championship Air Races, held in September for the last 48 years.
