Long time, no see! I'm currently rebranding from Kat Mellon Writing & Design to Bad Kat Studio—I'm not writing much these days, plus I'd like to incorporate some of my weird art into my business. I've added two new categories to my website: Original Art and OOAK (one-of-a-kind) Dolls.

Hey, everyone! I’ve decided to take a hiatus from design work. I absolutely LOVE designing book covers, but I need to pause working with clients until my kids are a little older and my health issues are better controlled.

I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for your support over the years. My hope is to return to the ‘pre-made’ side of things sometime in 2024, with custom eBook covers being off the table for the foreseeable future. (I don’t handle the self-imposed stress of custom work very well. My heart still hammers every time I send out an initial design or reply to an email—I definitely have some anxiety issues to work through! 🌚)

It’s been an awesome ten years, and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come as a designer. I'm just hitting 'pause' for a bit—it won’t end here. In the meantime, you might see some ‘one-and-done’ creations (small watercolor paintings, a new Redbubble notebook design, etc) pop up; low-stakes stuff whenever I have a little free time. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, and thank you all again for your support and for being so patient with me. 🥹

A debut supernatural ghost story by Astrid Addams!

"Hope House has a past so gruesome and evil, that few people dare to set foot on the property. Until out of the blue, Alice inherits Hope House. With nowhere else to go and money lenders and her own horrific past at her heels. She decides that Hope House will make a good family home.
