🤳 Facebook & Instagram Ads DON'T replace your organic social media strategy. There's a million and one reasons why but here's an important one:

Your organic engagement helps REDUCE your ad costs and increase your ad reach!! (Sorry for yelling) 😯

The more organic engagement you can create on your stories, posts and reels the better FB & IG understands who your ideal audience is
AND
it tells the algo that your ad content will perform well to new people it sends it to.

So remember to ask questions, use those engagement stickers in your stories and don't get aggro at your ad manager if your ad costs have increased but you haven't been active on socials in like 3+ months... mmkay? 😜

🎉 I've got a few exciting announcements to make *clears throat* 🎉

First, you're looking at the new Facebook Ads Team Coordinator for ! I'm stepping into this newly created role while our fearless leader Tenai heads off on maternity leave.

I'm really enjoying training other team members and being a source of ad wisdom for them 🧙

✨Background: I've been working w Birdcage since I went full time in my business over a year ago as a freelancer. That position kept growing until I became permanent part-time late last year- making up about 60% of my weekly work.

Now, I'm stepping into a larger role so I won't be offering any DFY services with Cuppa Creative. HOWEVER, I still want this to be a space where other service providers and solopreneurs come for practical advice about Facebook Ads, funnels and copywriting.

👉 So expect to see some sweet DIY offers rolling out.

🥂 2nd - Birdcage has been announced one of The Australian Business Journal's top 20 Australian Ad Agencies to watch in 2021. Such an awesome team effort!

🌴 3rd - I'm heading off on my honeymoon next week in The Whitsundays and I'm so freaking excited.

😅 4th - I've signed up for Pilates Teacher Training at .studio and I'm so excited to get back into the teaching role again (I lead body balance classes in WA for 2 years) and train at the most heavenly studio 🥰

Feeling sassy... won't delete later.

💥 Your ads never got you sales in the first place 💥

Controversial statement I know but think about it.

Your ads brought you leads. Your website, branding, copy and emails, positioning and ultimately your offer got the sale.

The Facebook Ad landscape is changing faster than a tourist 🌞 sunburns on a Port Douglas holiday.

But the core of selling and marketing will always stay the same: audience + marketing + selling + retention

Maybe you need to switch up how you engage your audience or how you measure your results... but its not over! It ain't ever over.

✨ So take this as your permission slip to try something new with your ad strategy! ✨

⚠️Nerd Alert⚠️ Want to know my favourite metric in Facebook Ads Manager?

It's not purchases or return on ad spend (although I do love these beauties).

👉 It's the link click-through rate (CTR). It helps me measure how ad creative is performing compared to last week, last month or a recent copy or video update.

Facebook takes the sum of your impressions from the ad and calculates the rate at which people click on the link on your ad and ultimately head to your website (you can also measure this with outbound link CTR).

🤔 So if you're wondering how your creatives are working in your current ads, check out the link CTR, compare it to industry averages (wordstream is a great blog to do this) and compare it to your advertising efforts the week or month before.

I've got a confession to make: sometimes I think ads are icky 🙃

And I do them for a living 🤯

So, why do I do them?

To be honest, it's the stories I get to tell in a creative way.

It's why I love working with brands with a human face, a strong brand voice and an important message. 💖

Plus, I get to help these brands come a little bit closer to bringing their vision and big ideas to life every day with the power of advertising. And I'm not mad about it.

So, when you decide to run your next campaign, think about that compelling story that humanises your brand - instead of big, flashy commercial-style ads. Save those for TV and billboards.

👉 Save this post for later

1: Create a funnel ON social media, using video views or engagement objective campaigns - then retarget people who interacted with those ads

2: Grow your email list > take people off the social beast (using ads) and onto your owned marketing list - email is still queen! 👑

It's hard to keep up with all the changes rolling out in the digital space, but if you take it back to basics and lead with good marketing and great content, you're sure to weather the storm!
