MARTYRS SALUTE 2021
PHOTOS: PART 1
We are proud to have successfully organized the first ever Martyrs Salute concert, Yesterday 30th July 2021 at Kololo Central – Juba South Sudan. The colorful event was filled with laughter, dancing, smiles as well as some emotional tribute to the Martyrs who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
We started the event which was hosted by our Master of Ceremony David Boboto, with a word of prayer, which focused on thanking God for the Nation that we had and also appreciating the role the Martyrs had to play as we also prayed for their loved ones that they had to leave behind.
This was followed up by a powerful dance performance by the SSD Dancers that captured the story of liberation and captured elements of a choreographed Sarafina dance that fit the South Sudan context.
After the powerful dance, We had an emotional moment where the audience paid respect to the martyrs in a moment of silence, then followed by some crowd interactions where the audience were asked to name some of the Martyrs they would like to salute, this 15 minute interactive session was then followed by lighting of touches (phone lights) in honor of our late brother Mantani who sadly lost his life on the 24th July 2021 in Kampala. The audience was then encouraged to contribute to the funeral expenses by placing their donations in a basket that was provided on stage.
This emotional session was then followed by a speech from Marketing Solutions Limited founder Manasseh Mathiang, who took the opportunity to enlighten the audience on the purpose of the event as well as introduce the events special tribute session to Mantani from SSD aimed at celebrating the life of the late artists. The audience danced to the songs of the late singer including “Arusu” and others.
This session created a cheerful environment for our main singer Emmanuel Kembe who delivered a one hour powerful performance that was rich in powerful content that relates to the South Sudan struggles as well as honoring our late Martyrs. The event was then concluded with another dance from the SSD dancers.
